  1. Professional tandem instructor there i saw, nice and friendly. i did my currency jump there after 3.5 years and the process meted out by Mike is very professional, comprehensive and considerate. DZ is easy to spot from up there. Plenty pond swooper there so a great place for canopy swooping. Driving there is easy on GPS! Sheetoh C-34846
  2. Over the weekend I visited this DZ and love every bit of it, it is a 4 year old DZ in a town called Kaposvar, in Hungary, soutthwest of Budapest about 200km, if drive it takes about 2 hours, by bus or train 3 hours. Aircraft is T410, can take 22 people, wide and very comfortable. big door and takes less than 20 min to reach 14000. Plenty of outs, I stayed in the bunk house. Hungarian jumpers are friendly and the foods execellent. Happy to be able to find this very good DZ while travelled to Budapest for business. Blue Skies Sheetoh

I am surprized by this DZ, put in Sun and Monday (31May and 1 Jun) jumps and loved every bit of it. Stay in a bunker room by myself, very good night sleep. T410 is a powerful jump plane it takes to 14000 in approx 15 min. Wide door for larger group exit. Pilots(2 on board in each flight by regulation) are very experienced and skilful, always open up wind! A balance of FF and RW in this DZ. Which is good balance. They are very skilfull. I like the food there especially the Hungarian barbercue on Sat night. Great food. Watch out on Hungarian liquor I called it white wine, which packed 48% in it! I arrived the DZ by bus 3 hours and went back to Budapest catching a ride back arranged by the DZ. Most people there don't speak English but you can get around it easily. I hope to be back again someday! Blue Skies Sheetoh
  4. Just have to keep trying.... I will always want to jump with newbies becoz I was "brought up" at Holister where they will jump with newbies and I really appreciated that gesture. When I had 50plus jump, I was invited to join them and resulted in wonderful memories. I felt much more confident thereafter and I remember those culture. Now I am very willing to stop my group jump just to go with a newbie....
  5. Yes Jason has called me and we talked yesterday afternoon. Now I really wish your plan turn into reality soon. Let me know when you come to Guangzhou, thanks Sheetoh
  6. Excellent! call me at 13802966749 Friday, I know a few USPA S&TA, tandem jump masters that you might be interested to linked up with. Blue skies Sheetoh
  7. Thanks Purple, Thanks for the update since I will be in Guangzhou for at least until 2008 so it is a major concern for me! I am very glad there is such a plan. Do you speak mandarin? I wonder if any USA DZ is keen to develop this sports in China, not sure this is a good idea since I am not aware of your DZ experience. I am seriously hoping your plan can take shape soon. I was talking to skydiving friends in Thailand and was told that if you arent local in China, it will be a major obstacle for a foreigner to set up something related to airfield. There are many approval red tapes to clear alone. One thing for sure, extreme sports is beginning to interest many Chinese so I do convinced there are great future for skydiving in China. 8. Hi Purple, I will be xtremtly interested as well since I am working in Guangzhou! Just wondering which part of south China? I am hoping it is near where I live. Any time frame it can be started? Happy New Year Sheetoh
  9. Hi Purple, The airport here is managed by either government related or military body. are you sure you can get it set up? Where in China? Sheetoh
  10. Not sure you already got your information you needed, just saw your post........anyway, I have been there a few times. It is located at Genting Highlands, a grand casino up on the mountain. approximately 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur. You can search for website :genting highland skyventure. Sheetoh
  11. I was actually very surprise at last year's overwhelming response. I always thought Singapore people are very "scare of everything"--scare to lose, scare to falling behind others, scare to take risk,... well I was wrong. I have many friends in Singapore signing up, many of my overseas friends signing up too. Jumping from MIL-8 aircraft, that's rare chance. It is not easy to get some jumps in Singapore due to air space constraints so I am sure many more will come forward to sign up. Have fun, you will not forget this experience. Sheetoh
  12. Its okay, When I started skydiving, every skydive course (we call AFF-Accelerated FreeFall)was like going to the execution ground. I was finding reasons to not go but I had already paid so I had to complete the entire skydive course. I did not plan to continue but I already had 227 jumps in less than 2 years. Your worry is normal and perfectly okay. The "what if" is still on my mind every time I jump! I will be there for the Singapore skydive festival and I am sure you will enjoy it. Sheetoh
  13. Well I am from the difficult island for skydiving and do my jumps in Indonesia, USA and Australia. There was a skydive festival last Aug but that was all we had and I hope there is another one this year. Access this place: www.skydiveasia.org, you can find many skydivers in Singapore community, and threads to skydive thailand, who just opened last month.
  14. The windtunnel I recently visited in Malaysia has "wire mess" beneath so when you land on it with full arch you manhood 's goona hurt! Been there at least 5 times before and have not seen any one injured. Blue Skies Sheetoh B-26962
  15. Hi, I always have a question: What can a skydiver do if a custom officer at the airport insist on checking/opening your parachute. I am worried that they may open the reserve. I have seen custom officers forced open someone's gift wrap by cutting it open at a International airport before. So I thougt it may happen to the paracute. Blues Skies, SheeToh
  16. Hi guys In case you are coming to Singapore in August 21-22 do check this site: www.jumponsingapore.com. In that same week there will be a "pre-boogie" to be held in Malaysia on 16-18 Aug. Singapore is finally holding its 1st civilian skydiving since more than 20 years ago! I am hoping this is a success so more jump will follow. That saves my $$ & time going else where for jumps. Sky is getting bluer here finally! SheeToh
  17. I am SheeToh from Singapore. No DZ in Singapore so far, so every jump trip to Indonesia cost me approximately $900(flight, 2 nite hotel, bus, meals, jump tickets...) and usually jumps for 6-10 on Sat and Sun. That works out to be approx. $112.5 per jump assuming 8 jump total. This is 6 times more expensive than jumping in USA.. SheeToh
  18. Kirk Osgood: Level 1 Fatherly look and will calm any nervous individual by. Serious looking always and highly professional in your teaching and instructions. Your clear teaching about obstacles and landing on slopes allow me to come back unscathed in only out-of-DZ landing. Rick Jarmel: Level 1 Sargeant Major style in teaching “Arch” and I think your seriousness in the Arch will go a long way for me. Thanks for pulling the rip cord in my maiden jump. You are split seconds ahead of me from Video. Kimber: Level 2, 3 Another fatherly looked and seasoned JM with a calming effect for any first timer.First one to teach me how to thoroughly check the parachute. You drilled very serious instructions about safety and dealing with situation in skydive into my head and I always will remember that. Sebastien: level 3,4 This is the JM that boosted my confident in my level 3 and level 3-4. The most cheerful skydiver got to be you and made many humorous comments when you are around. By the way, sorry for pulling your thumb in my level 2 jump. I thought it was the ripcord!(of course I have to repeat that level) Monique: Level 2,3,5,6,7 I had many enjoyable jumps with you. Your safety safety safety instruction for my future jump elsewhere is excellent and it will always be remembered
  19. I had 11 jumps on Parafun Advance early this month and enjoy all the jumps. It is a nice looking rig (blue color)and comfortable wearing it. Feels great in the air too. I would have bought if seller willing to sell it complete. Sheetoh
