  1. From your pic it looks like you get a lot of good attention. I saw a film recently where two white guys and a black guy were eating in a restaurant. The waitress was paying extra attention to the black guy. When she left he started complaining that it was reverse discrimination. His white friend said, "I wish I was black. Maybe I would have my sandwich by now."
  2. That could be a rough cutaway. Better to tape your package up under your chest strap. I'm pretty well hung and I always throw it over my shoulder and keep it tight under my container.
  3. The bottom line is that it really doesn't make much difference if your forebears were Iroquois, Indonesian, Ibo or Irish. It does make a difference if you're a good-looking woman. Blue skies, Winsor Black men can't jump.
  4. [I was learning to spot (the door freaks me out), The door used to really freak me out. Almost as scary as public speaking. I would almost get sick looking out. Once out I was having a ball. On my graduation jump I did back flips out the door. That seemed to break the spell. Now I enjoy looking out, watching the exit right before me, checking my spot, etc.
  5. QuoteI am just wondering why? Sorry if my question offends anyone. I have only 70 jumps, but had to ride down the other day. We got fogged in at 3000 ft and decided to land. I couldn't turn off my cypres so the senior guy kept his hand on my reserve, ready for it to pop, and told me not to worry about a thing. The cypres didn't fire. Those guys are too cool. Another cool thing was that I had my laptop and wireless modem with me, so I made lots of friends while we sat in the packing room watching live doppler.
  6. QuoteHey all, I started jumping exactly 4 months ago tomorrow, and I still haven't completed my A license. Who else here can give me a "me too" story? My buddy and I started a couple of months ago and he is still on AFF jump 2 and barely walkiing after a full flare and crash from about 20 feet. It will take him a year. I did the S20 jump STP program in Houston in 4 days. Sorry - had to get that in.
  7. QuoteWell, of course I'm going to vote for FL. Lots of dz's to go to that are open all week, beaches with cute girls in bikini's, tourist attractions....we got it all going on. And, of course, there's ME down here! haha I've been to several Texas dz during perfect weather, but during the week there are not enough jumpers to get in more that a few jumps per week day. Are there any dz's busy enough to make 10 jumps a day during the week?
  8. I'm thinking about trying it as an alternative to free flying alone on those days when I can't find a partner.
