  1. Ya, I like that place too. Its awesome. PJ
  2. I have been using this MX1 mixer for years now. I know that technology has changed alot. I still use mine but Im having a problem with programming. If anyone is very familiar with this, please PM me. The users manual is not helping me right now. Thanks in advance, PJ
  3. Who else likes freeflying at SVNH? I'd like to network with any of you freeflyers out there who want to split and share time. Flying in 2-4 way groups gives you alot of bang for your buck. Who's in? PJ
  4. Yeah! Who will be freeflying at Xenia, OH this holiday weekend? $18 jumps is a pretty sweet deal! Who likes to do what? Sitfly, Headdown, Flocking, Hybrids, VRW 4way, whats it gonna be? Im looking forward to seeing some of you again and meet some new faces. I arrive on Friday afternoon. Im available for 1 on 1 freefly coaching and I will be organizing freefly groups throughout the boogie. See you soon. PJ Jackson
  5. Who wants a shot at a very challenging camera slot? Im part of a 4way VRW team that is looking for a camera flyer. It will be nothing like parking over rw 4way team. This slots requires quick movements and multi angles. Anyone interested can contact me here with a PM and i can provide a ton of details. This team will be training at Jumptown in Orange, MA for now. Other travel may be required. May 11-13th is the 1st training camp for the team. Pass this on to anyone interested in 4way VRW. Blue Skies!! PJ Jackson
  6. Ive had some positive responses and have filled some slots already. I still have a need for a video flyer and some flyers to fill the last slot and possibly a backup. Here's the deal! I have scheduled a 4way VRW day at Jumptown May 11-13th. Ive already invited a few people to come tryout for a team. Its open to anyone interested and maybe more than one team can form. May 11th - 13th is 4way VRW weekend at Jumptown in Orange, MA. Any freeflyer interested should come check it out even if you feel your skill level isnt there yet. Simply being exposed to 4way VRW will bring you one step closer. Jumptown has an otter that we jump Friday - Sunday. A brand new hanger and facilities is just the start when we talk about this DZ. Ask a friend about Jumptown. PJ
  7. Im traveling out to Perris valley for this coming weekend. Im wondering if anyone else is arriving at the Ontario, CA airport on thurday 4/19 evening? I will share rental car cost or throw down some cash for a ride to the DZ. I get in at 11pm thursday night 4/19 Anyone live close by or going that way that could hook it up? PM me or reply some helpful info. Thankx! PJ
  8. Check this out. You dont always have to come to New England. Its doubtfull that all members will be located in the same area. Jumps are jumps. We may have to do some camps at other DZ's that require travel. If you travel to a DZ where a team member has hook ups like places to stay and airport rides, it can be doable. You can make anything happen if you really want it to. im pretty sure Jeremy is on with me and we got this bad ass flyer named Sara C. Why dont you try to come out for one camp and make 20 jumps with us. PJ
  9. So, who is up for some VRW 4way? Who is looking to give it a try or even take it to Nationals? I’m looking for help forming a team. This is the first year that it’s a medal event at nationals. There were 9 teams participating in the test event at 2006 Nationals. It’s been hard to find teammates. During 2006, I learned the dive pool and did some training dives with the help of Dave Brown from Team Mandrin. The VRW 4way team Dave is a part of has been a major factor in the launch of VRW 4way. I was asked to fill a slot on a Team CK5 at Nationals 2006. That little bit of training really paid off. This stuff is cool! At first it’s a little, whoa, but you get used to it after a few jumps. Im looking for potential teammates. Who wants to fly? Team Mandrin will be training at Jumptown in Orange, MA this season. The members of Team Mandrin are Dave Brown, Kyle Stark, Mike Wittenburg, Jon Pinyon, and Brian Buckland. I plan to be there during most of their training camps. Jumptown is my home DZ. There is tunnel time they want to share too on some of the nights of the camps. SVNH is not too far from the DZ for night flying sessions. Team Mandrin has already booked time are encouraging others to get in on it and its open to all. These guys are real cool and very approachable. They really want to promote VRW so Im sure they will pass on some tips. The opportunity will be there to learn from some pioneers. I know I’ll be watching them closely. At minimum, I plan to go to nationals and get on a pick up team for VRW 4way. I will even fly the camera slot if needed. I don’t have to make 200 jumps with the same team to have fun. Any experience gets you closer. Is there anyone out there interested in a light training schedule and being part of a team? I have 3 Flyers lined up and we’re looking for 1 more plus outside video. Team Mandrins’ training schedule has been posted on the Jumptown website and the tunnel times to share are posted as well. I have a lot of info to share to those who are interested. You can PM me or contact me at [email protected]. Feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested. PJ Jackson
  10. Is there anyone out there in the northeast that wants to get into VRW this year? If so, check this out and PM me about making some jumps. http://www.jumptown.com/experienced/freeflying/mandrinschedule.shtml PJ
  11. I forgot that you were gonna try to be there Divegoddess! I did meet alot of new freeflyers at Jumptowns' Safety Day. It looks like theres gonna be alot of freefly this year. There should be some events posted very soon on our website, I know they are working on it now. See you at Jumptown. PJ
  12. Id also say a tighter fitting suit possibly with spandex in the inseams and back. I always recommend a full suit over just pants. Most of the times you wear longsleeve up top anyways. That way there is no need to worry about clothing coming undone and possibly becoming a safety hazard. Some drag on the suit is good, thats why we wear them.
  13. Whats going on with the Northeast Freeflyers? Who is around this season, jumping where? Any good events going on? PJ
  14. Thanks, I almost freaked out cuz i bought plane tickets after seeing it on the site. then i saw the ad and thought i was screwed. Those typos can trick you. One last thing to clear up now. Amy, what is the Freefly 2-wat scrambles all about? see you there.
  15. VRW, VFS whatever they are calling it these days. Im looking to get together with a fun pick up 4way VFS team at this years Nationals. Its a test event and schduled for the last couple days of nationals. Im open to flying camera, but I really want to be one of the flyers. Ive done one VRW competetion and hosted a VRW camp at my DZ. Ive got some experiance, but really havent trained at it. Ive been fortunate enough to pick up a few real good tips and learn about the whole team thing from members of Team Mandrin. I will be at nationals chillin for the week. Ive got some 2way crew vid to shoot, but I plan on being available to enter the VFS test event. I will be looking to get on a pick up team. Anyone who is also looking, post here and maybe set up a team. Also, send me a PM if you think you'd be interested in teaming up with me. PJ
  16. Dave Brown will be freefly organizing and coaching at Jumptown this weekend. First off, if you can get thursday off from work and come to the DZ, we will be flying the otter. Sh*t, start the weekend early and make it a 4 day personal boogie. There are 20 or more tandems scheduled and it starts at 10am. Jumping is way better than working. I will be there Thursday and may be available for freeflying. On saturday and Sunday Dave Brown will be at the DZ. Saturday will be a day for group jumps as a priority, then on Sunday he will do 1 on 1's. There is NO REGISTRATION FEE. Just pay your slot and jump with Dave all weekend. You cant beat that! There will be local RW organizers too, so its not just us freaks. The bridman flock seems to be growing too. If you are new to my list, this is the part where I tell you all how sweet Jumptown is. Everything is all brand new. From the big hanger and first class facilities, to the brand new grass landing area. I know this is old news to most of you, but there a few people ( I wont name any names) who havent even bothered to come check it out yet. Whadayawaytinfor! Saturday night I think there is a bar B Q. As always the grills are free to use and the fire pit will be blazing. All the days videos will be played on the big screen projector. Its life size. The weather will be sweet this weekend, not too hot. See you then. Feel free to forward this to someone who may not get it. Blue Skies PJ
  17. Just a Reminder that Dave Brown organizes at Jumptown in Orange, MA once every month, all season. The last few times have been very cool. We did a VRW 4 way camp (guess they are calling it VFS 4way). We learned all types of stuff about it. And we got to play with dolls The next time we did a freefly skills camp. On Daves next visit, we will be organizing groups on one day and then He will do 1 on 1 coaching the next day. Other than that, Jumptown is really turning into a first class dropzone. With the new building, grass landing area and all, there is too much to list here. Alot of the new students are looking to freefly too, so I am psyched. If you are in the Northeast or around on vacation, Check out Jumptown. There are local freefly organizers there every weekend so there is always some freeflying going on. PJ
  18. Agreed. The best story ever was when PJ was landing and some guy was there with his kid watching. The kid (bout 6 years old) says "Daddy, that must be a girl because it's a pink parachute" you had to go there. Huh, Ian! F*cker! PJ
  19. Andy, I will try to clarify and be short and simple. The DZ does charge the customer for the video. They keep their profit and pay for the vid slot and the videographer gets the rest in the form of a paycheck, by the DZ. Then, they charge the videographer X amount of dollars, per video, as an additional kickback to the club for the use of the video room. We own all our equipment. The fee is taken out of our profits. Its pretty much the same scenario as your 1st example. PJ
  20. Have we met? you look familiar!
  21. Ha, I saw that. I was like feelin bad, like it was an evil trick. But since you are a small dude, thats the suit they give. Kinda funny. Dont worry, i flew a pink (its magenta) canopy for a while. Just try to remember not to get much vid or photos untill you get away from that shit. Anyways, Im just a DZ.com lurker too, but im at Jumptown almost every weekend. I wear the blue and grey freefly suit with the 3 stripes. Dont worry about all that RW shit they are gonna show you Just remember one thing FREEFLY welcome to the club. PJ
  22. I am curious if there are DZ's out there that charge the videographers any fees for doing video for the dropzone. If there are dropzones out there that charge a fee for doing video for the DZ, I'd like to hear what the circumstances are. I would like to hear about your thoughts on a particular DZ that charges a fee per video with a maximum monthly charge. Assume, for this example, that all videographers own all their gear and buy all the film and video supplies needed to produce video for the dropzone. For the use of the room and electrical hook ups, there is a per video fee, but it caps off at a certain dollar value. This room is spacious. Its big enough for each videographer to have an edit station and gear storage. It locks up and no one unauthorized has access. You could even leave your stuff in there during the non skydiving months (northeast) while still paying that fee. Its a specialized room for videographers and there is no other use. All feedback would be appreciated. Blue Skies
