Did you do your AFF in Elsinore? I've been wanting to drive up the road and check them out, because what I've seen on the website, it looks really nice. Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous?

I haven't gotten to Level 6 yet, so for all I know, the "pushing from the plane" could be a figure of speech, or just meant to be plain humerous. Either way, it sounds fun... As far as the smaller canopy, that was more tongue in cheek than anything. Although I do see myself eventually going to something smaller, right now during the AFF training, I use the school's 240 sq.ft. chute, and I'm quite comfortable with that... I'm only 5'7, 145lbs..... Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous?

I cut my teeth on the Twin Otter in Perris with my first 3 jumps. This past Saturday, I jumped from the Skyvan for the first time. Maybe Paul (Quade) can give me some insight on this, because for some reason I was really nervous jumping out of the Skyvan since I was so used to the Otter. With the Skyvan, instead of crouching down and stepping out of the side like you would in the Otter, you stand directly at the back open door of the plane, arch, and step back... for some reason, when I would arch, I felt like I was going to fall out, which I guess wouldn't be a HUGE problem since the whole point is to exit anyway.... HA HA Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous?

Ok, while this story holds some truth, I'm posting this with tongue in cheek. My best friend and I just started jumping last month in Perris. We went AFF from our first jumps on. Everyone else in our class had at least done tandem jumps previously. So right off the bat people thought we were off our rockers for not at least trying a tandem jump first. Now, with us at Level 5, we're talking about how we're looking forward to Level 6, where they push us out of the plane..... we were told that MOST people "DREAD" that level... Also, after only 4 jumps, we're already asking for smaller canopies, and tighter suits..... I ask you, why do people think we're so crazy?? Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous?

Greetings, As I near the end of my AFF training, I'm looking to get my own jumpsuit. While browsing various sites, I've seen the various makes and designs for specific discpilines. My question is this. How do these different designs in suits actually affect your flight, say for instance if I have a suit made for Freeflying, or Relative Work, but I just intend to jump, arch, and fall? Also, I've considered having a friend just make a suit, or flight pants (or both) for me to save me a couple hundred $$. Where would I look for patterns to give her, and what fabrics are best to use? Greetings all, I'm a new jumper, a few days away from my AFF Level 4 jump. I'm in Los Angeles, and I jump out of Perris. I'm very new to this, and so far I'm VERY hooked. I think it's not just the sport I'm hooked on though. We go to the Perris DZ as often as we can, sometimes just to hang out. There is an atmosphere there that I haven't experienced anywhere else.. It's a truely awsome place.. I feel that I've made a whole slew of new lifetime friends. Having said that, I'm basically just looking for the rest of you out there with the same killer personality that we've found at the Perris DZ. Perris Staff; Gary, Pat, Uli, Vinny, Alex, John, Kai, Misty in the BombShelter, Blue and Frank in Square One, and anyone else I've missed... you're all THE BEST.... What are the best fabrics to use? I'm just looking to use flight pants as opposed to an all out jumpsuit. Also, where could I go to find a pattern or design to go by? Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous?
