  1. I just got the following email from the same user: " I am ok with your asking price which is $2000 and am ready to add $200 to it making $2,200 am going to pay for the item.i will make the shipment myself via my shipper,he will be the one to come and pick up the item from you after the payment has been made to you.i will also be making my payment via a certified check,so get back to me if my mode of payment is accepted and we can proceed on this transaction.Looking forward to doing business with you." I'm glad I checked with DZ.com first.
  2. DSE, Delmarva will be reopened by the time you get to the area. They have a Twin Otter and some good fun jumpers. A little further than a couple other DZs but worth the drive.
  3. I use the HC7 and have noticed everything that you have stated. I don't know if it has to do with HDV or the way Sony is designing these new cameras. Just thought I would let you know that you are not alone. BTW, I don't edit vids during the jump day anymore. Too much to do in such little time. I mail them out now by default.
  4. Skydive Delmarva contines to operate out of Ocean City for the time being. There are other plans in the works, so stay tuned. You WILL get to jump the otter.
  5. I have the HC7 and I placed in a blackbox (from Cookie) on top of a FTP. I have NO issues! I guess I got lucky. I don't use it for freeflying (I have a 105 on a Rawa for that). The picture is steady and shake free. Here are my settings Shutter Speed 1/60 Steadyshot ON Wide Angle Conv ON Manual Focus set to infinity Circular Polarizer I'm keepin' mine!
  6. I don't know guys. Buying a camera (albeit a Sony) that uses proprietary memory cards (Pro Duo), is like buying a Beta machine when VHS has clearly won the battle. Sony just won't let go. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE Sony fan, but I think I'll wait to see what happens. Plus the fact that I'm already using the HC7, I don't think my wife will let have any more toys for a while.
  7. I would say no more than 1500 for the whole thing.
  8. As far as head position on opening, do what feels comfortable. Don't mind f*ck every little detail. Video is a fun thing to do. As far as not shooting stills for now, that's your choice. But I don't think it makes a difference whether you do or not. The video gets turned on and you point your head in the right direction. And oh yeah, your still is pointing in the same direction! Take couple of shots, get used to firing off a couple on exit. Emergency procedures - Rule #1 - GET SOMETHING ABOVE YOUR HEAD. If you start thinking about "is my head in the right position", you're wasting time! What canopy should I jump? What canopy do YOU like? I jump a Velocity. Most of the time it opens nice, sometimes it slaps me around a bit. Those are the best odds your going to get on ANY canopy. But the Spectre is a nice canopy. As for WHO to video? Start with RW groups. No pressure, (probably no pay). Jumping with instructors (and students) when you're just starting out makes most instructors a little nervous. RW groups are more than happy to see how great they are, no matter who's filming. Other suggestions: Have fun, be safe. And oh yeah, don't get too steep on the RW groups, they hate when you crash the party!
  9. I think you are hearing old horror stories from when ROL deployments were the norm. Now that 95 percent of the deployment systems out there are some sort of BOC (pull-out, BOC pilotchute), the chances of reaching between the wing and BOC are pretty slim. You would have to work at it, but it could be done. I wouldn't worry about it much. Just like with anything, it will get some taking used to. Be careful and have fun.
  10. There are a couple of PC 105's on ebay. Good camera and you could pick up for fairly cheap.
  11. I like to think of it as a "healthy range". Let's get back on topic!
  12. That would make much more sense. 226 kph = 140ish mph. No wonder you couldn't keep up.
  13. I think your alti is screwed up. Maybe you should enter the speed diving comps! I can see it now....you in a tight rubber suit haulin' ass at 300+mph! You'd win for sure! BTW, ordered a blackbox for the HC7. Should be here by Thursday or Friday. Hopefully that will be it for me. I will let you know what i see after I get it in the air.
  14. 226?! I think you far exceeded the normal head down freefall speed by 65mph! I'm surprised the camera didn't peel off the helmet! ROFLMAO! Thanks for everything your doing to help, but for God's sake SLOW DOWN ! My normal freefly speed is the high 150's to low 160's, and I weigh 215lbs. DAMN!
  15. Could you post something to skydivingmovies.com so we can take a look?
