  1. Bill, you seem to have two different positions that are at odds. Position #1 Renewables are ready to go! You provide several examples to support that notion and have even quarreled with me on this very thread when I suggested otherwise. Position #2 Renewables are NOT ready for prime time and we urgently need to develop them before the cheep oil runs out. To quote you; "Think about how much it will suck when we run out without alternatives ready to go." You mentioned cognitive dissonance, I can not think of a better example.
  2. Speaking of cognitive dissonance; the whole OMG running out of oil, destroying the planet, what about the cute fuzzy bears narrative is promulgated by your side. I’m just laughing at it. I don’t think AOC is a threat. I think she and her wacky ideas are an albatross that will be hung around the neck of every Democrat in the next election.
  3. non se·qui·tur /ˌnän ˈsekwədər/ noun a conclusion or statement that does not logically follow from the previous argument or statement.
  4. Are you kidding me!?!? ONE turtle gets a plastic straw stuck in its nose and half of the country goes batshit crazy and starts banning plastic straws. It is politics and fear that drive the whole AGW debate. ”OMG! We are running out of oil while we are destroying the planet! We have to do something! Think about the cute fuzzy polar bears”
  5. According to AOC, any consideration of cost is stupid
  6. Yes I agree, we are now the largest oil and gas producer in the world. USA! USA! USA!
  7. Only in the West, globally coal is still king. Don’t get me wrong, I prefer NG to coal any day, but the developing world prefers coal
  8. Yep, I’m just waiting for Tesla’s sales to skyrocket once subsidies end next year. With regard to fossil fuel plants.....new ones are being built faster than older ones are being decommissioned. https://www.carbonbrief.org/mapped-worlds-coal-power-plants
  9. Why are you such a denier? https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2019/03/26/energy-consumption-increased-at-a-record-rate-in-2018 the reality is that we have never used more fossil fuel. Renewables are just not keeping pace with a growing global economy.
  10. https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2018/09/frances-nuclear-clean-energy-is-over-three-times-faster-and-cheaper-than-germanys-solar-and-wind.html
  11. Funny how that doesn’t translate into the real world, besides I will keep my $22 MWHR natural gas for the next hundred years
  12. Germany chose wind and solar France chose Nuclear who has the cheapest energy? France! Case closed
  13. Not nearly as much as we need fossil fuels
  14. Did you even watch the TED talk? Pay attention to the last two minutes. It is possible to believe in AGW and be against large scale wind and solar. Have you ever heard of nuclear power?
  15. At no point does the speaker defend fossil fuels. It would appear that you are confused.
  16. Watch the video before you opine. He addressed that very issue. My favorite quote, “cats don’t eat eagles, eagles eat cats.” I also liked “now that we know renewables cannot save the planet, will we continue to let them destroy it.” BTW it is NOT a denier video. At no time does he even question AGW. Please watch the entire video and try to refrain from name calling.
  17. Agreed https://www.washingtonpost.com/powerpost/green-new-deal-divides-democrats-intent-on-addressing-climate-change/2018/12/27/c3b6a144-02d5-11e9-b5df-5d3874f1ac36_story.html
  18. Quite right, and that is why NP is playing AOC like a court jester, she even let her hold the gavel the other day. Whimsical leftist will all gleefully fall into line as Pelosi practices realpolitik.
  19. Clearly your cranial/rectal inversion has yet to be resolved
  20. As Nancy said, “a glass of water with a D could win her district” and as I said, Nancy has her firmly on a leash. She is a useful idiot to quote Lenin.
  21. It didn’t sound like sarcasm in her original presentation. It’s sad to see a SJW brought down by her own words. Looks like Nancy has her progressive dog firmly leashed.
