  1. We don’t have single use bags in our house. After I bring home the groceries I put them in a drawer for subsequent use. We use them for waste baskets liners and dog poop pickup duties. Does your community reuse dog poop bags or are they a bunch of virtue signaling hypocrites? A handmade grocery satchel made from hemp weaved by native Americans when flexing virtue at Whole Foods but one and done when cleaning up after Fido.
  2. I know you know Joe, but it was not you to whom I was referring. The youngsters have to depend upon technology to make up for their lack of experience and knowledge. was referring.
  3. No, the damage wrought by progressive policies is infuriating. What I am laughing at is also a homophone for a female sheep. (I’ll give you a few hours to google it)
  4. Further explanation: The folks at the party are progressives, well meaning yet so blinded by virtue signaling that they fail to see the damage they cause. The little boy at the end represents society.
  5. Did you miss seeing my avatar? ”I am cold and I am hard and my name…is Reality!” I am the villainous Reality in the safe-space of Speakers Corner
  6. It would make me happy to see more folks learning from California’s failures instead of emulating them.

The actual tonnage of plastic waste increased by almost 50 percent.” These results are the same or even worse in other states that have followed California’s example. I think this is what progressives call progress
  8. Now you are just making things up. I never said climate change is not real. I have said repeatedly that the climate changes and the earth has been warming, on and off since the last ice age. What I HAVE said is that natural variability overpowers and obscures any role CO2 may play in the warming and what role CO2 does play is largely beneficial (a literal greening of the planet)
  9. https://www.reuters.com/technology/apple-cancels-work-ev-moves-staff-ai-project-bloomberg-reports-2024-02-27/ Apple joins the ranks of EV failures. “Apple (AAPL.O), has canceled work on its electric car, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Tuesday, a decade after the iPhone maker kicked off the project...its end comes as global automakers cut back their investments in electric vehicles, whose demand has dropped significantly.”
  10. I lived on the continent for more than five years, speak enough German and Italian to get by, been to a dozen+ countries, from Spain to Lithuania, Netherlands to Turkey and most everything in between. Best stay on the porch young pup. Now I will go back to ignoring you.
  11. Nothing brings folks together like calling half of the country far-right MAGA extremists and blaming them for all of the country’s problems
  12. https://www.newstatesman.com/comment/2024/02/europe-consensus-climate-crumbling As I have been saying for years, when the abstract concept of “saving the planet” runs into the economic reality of financial survival, the rush of de-carbonization will shut down quicker than Joe Biden’s brain at a press conference.
  13. That comment was in response to Olof who claimed the lack of warming in the face of ever higher CO2 concentrations was due to La Nina, yet when a strong El Niño event results in higher temperatures he attributes it to CO2 and dismisses El Niño and natural variability?
  14. It was warmer due to El Niño, what the hell is wrong with you?
  15. As time passes the Chicken Little scenarios are increasingly becoming less and less likely, according to the IPCC. If you wish to stand on a street corner donning a sandwich board with “the end is near” printed in bold letters, I will stand shoulder to shoulder with you and defend your right to do so.
  16. Where does this notion of “climate crisis” come from? The globe warms a few hundredth of a degree and folks set their hair on fire. All of the ills that are supposed to accompany this slight, and in all likelihood natural, warming have failed to manifest. Do we really believe a slightly longer growing season is an existential threat to humanity?
  17. Sorry wrong thread. That said, admonishing one for thread drift in this forum is tantamount to handing out speeding tickets at the Indianapolis 500.
  18. “recent studies showing heritability for IQ as high as 80%….strongly correlated with genetics for late teens and adults” IOW post elementary education does little to improve one’s intellect IQ is largely a genetic gift/curse as is height, eye and hair color.
  19. Nobody wishes to opine on the false narrative of “climate crisis”?
  20. https://www.scmp.com/comment/opinion/asia/article/3252621/ev-honeymoon-over-demand-decelerates-and-carmakers-struggle just as I said….Sorry Olof
  21. “Beyond natural variability, the IPCC, much to the disappointment of alarmists, has concluded there is little or no evidence that the following events (table above) are or will be affected by human-caused climate change: river floods, heavy rain and pluvial floods, landslides, drought (all types), fire ‘weather’, severe wind storms (Met Office please note), tropical cyclones, sand and dust storms, heavy snowfall and ice storms, hail, snow avalanche, coastal flooding and erosion, and marine heatwaves.” They must not have gotten the “climate crisis” memo https://wattsupwiththat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Page-90_-from-IPCC_AR6_WGI_Chapter12.pdf
  22. If your insinuation is correct and Biden’s policies are not to blame for the border crisis, then what is? What massive geopolitical earthquake has resulted in the record breaking number of illegal migrants being released into the country?
  23. The amount of discretion any administration has with regard to enforcing immigration laws, makes citing a particular law unhelpful. It is the discretion the Biden administration exercised within the boundaries of the law which resulted in this crisis. Obama nor Trump had this problem to this degree and both administrations followed the law as well. Biden’s border fiasco is uniquely his.
  24. Easy, just deport those who have been deemed “processed for removal” for starters. Or how about reimplementing the Obama policy of prioritizing recent illegal migrants for deportation? This is a disaster of Biden’s own creation and the American people, overwhelmingly, hold him accountable. If Trump get elected the blame will fall squarely on the shoulders of Biden and his inability to stand up to the far left wackos in his party.
