Yep great news in fact He should be returning to Tallahassee today!. He will have to go to HealthSouth (a rehabilitation hospital) for a time but.... He is able to wheel himself about in the wheelchair and... can move the big toe on both feet..... Seems to me there is a significant note of progress and hope there! Its already been mentioned about him getyting a trike to cruise to bike week next year... Oh as a side note the phone number to Health south is (850)656-4800 and 656-4880 im not sure at this moment which one will get you transferred to his room ... Keep him in your prayers Will

UPDATE FROM 11-25-03 The latest update is The surgery took 10 hours instead of the 8 origionally planned but he is alert and concious and in relatively good spirits considering. His family and friends are with him in J-ville. I will pass info to Tom and/or add to this site to keep you informed. Will B.

Funny, I was a bit of a chicken growing up.. joined the army no interest in airborne school... many years later made friends with a longtime skydiver... Then last Christmas eve a close friend who was 10 yrs older than me decided to kill himself by gunshot down the throat. His wife went over the edge and I decided that life was just too damn short not to live. So my 34th b-day came around and I told my skydiving friend that I was jumping for my b-day.. I did (that was late April) and now I start groundschool and all the following jumps mid september AND my mother who will be 60 will be doing her #1 tandem about the same time I do my solo jump! Hello all, just dropping a line to say wow jumping is addictive!! Had my first tandem the last weekend in April to celebrate my 34th B-day.. Thought it would be a 1 time thing but oh no it wasn't to be... I've set up a "Jump Party" (no not a boogie) for June 14th in Quincy, Fla which I'm proud to say is my Home DZ. I've got about 10 people that are going to jump their "# 1" no I didnt say the "F" word... while I get in tandems 2 and 3 ... Then off to IAF training...
