  1. Dear All It's been such a long time since i last visited or posted on this forum... MISS YA ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've finally been signed off student status recently and the feeling of it was totally awesome!!!!!!! Finally i've "embarked" on the long long journey to more excitement and fun....... trying to find time and money to log in more jumps for my A license.............. The thot of jumping of the plane still seems pretty "scary" but oh well....... THAT's WHERE THE THRILL BEGINS>........... hahahha GOtta a stupid question..... why do i always seem to have problem pulling my ripcord???? i've tried different postures, ways etc... but i still have problem pulling that ripcord out for most of my jumps... and it's really scaring me.......... In one of my jumps recently, i waved off at 4000ft and had problem pulling my ripcord off....... tugged and tugged at it until it finally came out at ard 2000ft.................... Ah... really scared the "SxxT" outta me! any great advices from the experts here???? *i've been doing pushups since i came back from my jumps... thinking... could it be i've got not enuff muscles???? DUH!!!!!!!!!* CHeers!!!!!!!
  2. Heyz Michelle, It's a natural thing to get freaked out at the thot of jumping of a perfectly good airplane at 10000ft for the 1st time... (I was one of these ppl) hahha! the reason behind it, is becos u will never imagine and believe that u can DO IT???!!! well, 1stly u have to kill those evil "what ifs" thots in ur mind.. believe in ur own capabilities. Think of wat u will do up there and thereafter.... Dun think as "I'm just a student, i'm lost, i dun think i can do it..." dun anticipate wat is going to happen when u haven't even jumped... the more u think about it.. the more u are going to think u cannot do it! When it comes to the time for u to jump outta the airplane, just rehearse ur drills or wat u shud do after u jump out (if u aren't doing tandem), and Look FORWARD to the wonderful feeling of Freefalling!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then... before u reached the ground, u can say "GOODBYE" to ur "What ifs" and i'll say Congrats and Welcome to ur new addiction ===> Skydiving! hee hee hee!
  3. Good for you.... it does feel great to be able to move like the eagles huh??? Keep going at it.... DUN ever think of Stopping or Quiting....... cos u know how much fun u r going to miss out........... *whenever u see clear blue skies, u just yearned to be falling down from up there, dun ya??*
  4. Welcome..... I dun really know who is the oldest in here... but that doesn't matter... anyway.. i think i started this addiction a bit too later too........ oh well, better be later then never.. then u'll miss out all the fun.... thinking of not thinking about skydive..... maybe ur next life......... U just cannot stop thinking about it.............. *Congrats*
  5. Heyz, welcome to this wondeful forum..... and i'm GLAD that U are Addicted to this sport!!!! U'll realise that u've suddenly found ur meaning of Living and of cos, became more hardworking (in getting part time jobs, just to have money to complete ur skydiving training)!!! Meanwhile, Stay cool and safe...... U'll love skydiving More.....
  6. I'm planning my schedule for my next jump, shud be doing it again in jul, which is after my exams... kekeke.... looking forward to it... Hope i'm going to have a better landing and exit this time............. I love this WEBSITE>................ and everyone here!
  7. Hey All I've finally made my 1st ever jump in my whole life..... IT was totally AWESOME>................................. and I'm HOOKED!!!!! The most intense "fear" was the exiting.... the wind was so strong.. and I feel like I was going to be blown away any moment............ But the moment I loosen my grip on the strut, WAH.......... that is wat i really call adrenaline rush.................. It's no fear but all the fun and excitement that's in the air..................... Besides enjoying my freefall, i LOVE the Canopy ride down.......... the view was so Magnificent and well.. i'm glad that i made a decision to jump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If not i'd had live my life that is colourless and motionless......... Any tips or ideas to do a good delta position??????? ClearSkies....................Cheers Faye

  14. Hi Vman, Thanx for the advice. Glad to know that there are more than one "company" providing skydiving training and advice in singapore. To be frank, I've not done any jumps before but i i'm really very keen to pick up this sport. Stay away from Skydive Adventures and Thomas Mathews club. Er.... izit bad or good news? i've already signed up with them for my AFF course!!!! Oppz... I have seen to many accidents with them. Tho i understand that accidents are common in sports, but i will still hope that none or at least less serious ones shud happen to me or my frens! U have skydive with them before? does are the accidents u mentioned fatal or very serious??? S&TA Danniel Lee Prolly u could kindly email me their contacts?? thanx! I've got frens who are still keen but are pretty "scared", i could pass them the contact to let them check out more from this Danniel Lee whom u recommended?? Many Thanx again! P/S: it's really good to know that there are more and more ppl loving skydiving, eventhough u guys may not be singaporeans........
  15. yeh... wecome to dropzone.com!! it's the best cyberspace u'll ever find!!!! n of cos, friendliest & most helpful bunch of ppl i've ever met! it's never too late to pick up skydiving again, after some time! better be late, than never, huh??? Cheers!!!!!

  17. Geez....... that's truly one big weirdo........... thanx for sharing ur story!!!!! "Life is full of surprises, but when smthg happens to ya, u'll prolly ask.... WHY ME???"
  18. Hi there, Welcome this is cool forum...... and congrats to ur 1st tandem jump!!!!! I'm still waiting for my 1st AFF jump for the moment! The ppl in here are simply awesome........... U'll feel so happy and glad that u are in this big family!!!! Hang On tight..... in here
  19. Hi Sean I'm also new to the wonderful of skydiving! I've haven't really started my 1st jump as yet, scheduled to do the 1st level of AFF in June! I was kinda interested in AFF since a couple of years back but i din not really go into information search in singapore for Skydiving! Until recently, i went to have some fun at the SkyVenture Wind Tunnel at Genting and i simply fell in love with the feeling of bodyflight!!! This is simply a wonderful sport to fall in love with, esp when u have this grp of wonderful and helpful ppl here are Dropzone.com, there's really no reason why u shud not SkyDive! I'm currently reading 2 Skydiving related books: 1) Jump! Skydiving Made Fun & Easy 2) Parachuting: A Skydiver's Handbook! I find that both books give relatively good coverage on the basic information about skydiving, esp for newbies like us! i'll truly recommend the 2nd book. becos it's very comprehensive and give u the technical details of equipments etc.... if u have the time, do read the "JUMP" book also. cos it describes to u the experiences and also the mental preparation u shud have etc..... this is a more easy-to-read book to me! Since u had done jumps before, i think u'll enjoy reading the 2nd book, which is the Skydiver's Handbook more i'm sure..... Each time i see New ppl joining this forum... i know that all the more i wun wanna give up this wonderful sport!!!!!! Fly High, be a Birdman! Cheers..... BleuSkyz
  20. yap, precisely manz...the instructors at my sky diving centre mentioned that it's possible to do 3 jumps a day, so 2 weekends, i'll be at the 6th level, (if i can pass and move on the next level smoothly). But the fact is that i'm working full time on weekdays, taking part-time evening courses! Guess maybe i'm too greedy, want to do too many things! hahah cos i'm prolly afraid that i'll lose this "craziness and courage" as age creeps up on me! Watever izit, i think i shud go for my 1st few levels of jumps over the next mth and decide if i shud step on my accelerator and speed for my AFF over 2 weekends! Money, Money..... where to find u??? hahhah I kinda envy u all having Boogies at DZ on and off..... If only there's Boogies in singapore or at our nearest DZ at M'sia! Hey, are there actually any singaporeans out there???????????? Well, just excuse me... cos it's so hard for me to find ppl like u all here who are really so crazy about Skydiving.... In my this tiny little small country.. there's practically nothing much to do here... most of the ppl here either indulge in watching movies, shopping, singing Karaoke or doing nothing much! of cos there are sporty ppl ard, but seems like not many ppl are into skydiving! Scuba Diving is also and extreme sport, but ....... hey, lotsa singaporeans are into it! So can u imagine how delighted i was to find DROPZONE.COM?????? It's definitely a wonderful gathering place........ *imagine a cyber Boogie ne*>????? Cheers........... Fly High, cos there's nothing to fear!!!!!
  21. Hmm... oke, seems like the main issue here is not about money, it's also about getting continous and proper training! Cool.... then i'll go and try a few jumps 1st and then start on my AFF course once i've save enuff money for it! But that's not going to stop me from jumping! hee hee at most, i'll repeat the 1st few levels for refreshing purposes!!!!! Any good DZ for beginners like me in Aus?? cos i'm planning for a trip to Australia sometime end of this year! when exactly is a better weather for jumping?? Thanx very much for all the advises!!!! "Never trade your soul to the fate, fly high in the sky"
  22. geez..... if that's really wat izit... guess i'll have to cut down on all my snacks, and other "entertainments" dah!!!!! the 1st level of my AFF course is only a few hundred bucks! but if i were to complete the stages in 2 weekends... that's gonna go up to at least fifteen hundred SGD! Hm.... guess i gotta take a step at a time lor.. unless i strike the top prize for the coming lottery!!!!! hahhah :P I heard that Wind Tunnel training are good for brushing up skills like turns, loops etc... after completion of the 1st few stages??? Am i rite?? Anyway, thanx much for ur advice and encouragement! i really do hope that i can get my A license soon! Don't 4get to Pull & Flare!!!!
  23. Hi All I was wondering if Vertical Wind Tunnel training is good for the AFF course that i've signed up?? Actually i've done a "flight" before to get the experience of "bodyflight" a couple of weeks ago! In fact the Instructors at my Skydiving School recommended me to complete my AFF course over 2 or 3 weekends. But i dun have the time and also MONEY to do it over such a short period! My fren and i was thinking of doing one level of AFF course on a bi-monthly basis and if possible, to get some training in the Vertical Wind Tunnel mthly basis! Dun know if that is an recommended??? Advise from experts pls??? thanx! I've already made plans to cut down on vacations and shopping save up for my AFF course! hee hee!!! (more worth it than doing anything else) Thanx All!
  24. Geez, thanx dudes.... To All: Really love this website, the ppl here are all so frenly and really really love skydiving!!!!!! I know where to turn for help and advice if i do face encounter some problems in skydiving in the near future! THanx thanx! :) jerry: I know that i'll get tummyache prior to the jump for sure... hahha so i guessed i shud avoid onions and beans???? hahhah Andrea: ya think to ask questions or uncertainties are truly impt, so hopefull my trainers are nice and patient ppl!!!!! John: Cool, gotta check check and still check! hahah that's wat i read too, from some skydiving books!!!! but come to think of it.... hahha will i still remember wat to check when i'm getting so damn excited and "scared"???? Andre: thanx manz.... i sure do look forward to my 1st jump....... crossing out the dates and hoping that the day will come by quickly! Could somebody let me know how many DZ are there in australia itself and are there any DZ in NZ too???? Faye
