  1. Just a great big thank you to everyone who made this first trip away from "home" one I will not forget. Not only was it the busiest weekend of my skydiving "career" so far - 13 jumps in 2 days - but I saw some old friends, made some new friends and got to work on my free-flying with a whole range of great people. I posted on "Places to Go" also but since I'm bored and really wanted to chit chat - dropped a note here also.....Thanks to Trevor for everything (what a great surprise to exit my car and see that crazy green jumpsuit flying above me), thanks to Kenny and Ron for jumping with me lots and always making me feel like a "pro", thanks to skymama and chopchop for dealing with my slow ass fall rate, thanks to Libby for testing me and thanks to Jonny and the Zhills packing gang for the sweet openings when I gave up packing cause of the heat. This was a GREAT weekend!!! I'm sure I'll see everyone again soon. Can ya'll come to "Sebass" this weekend for my 100th? PLEEEEEEEEASE. Weather permitting - it WILL happen this weekend! Hugs to all....... Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  2. Ut - oh....so does that mean you are now at 96 jumps? Plan right now is to be at Z-Hills bright and early Sunday morning until early afternoon Monday. Hope you have your jumping shoes cleaned up and ready to go..... Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  3. Back to where this started....I have done tons of research the last few days on Rantoul and THE Boogie in Richmond...for me, as a newer flier, I think I am opting for Richmond because my goal this year is to go places I can jump and feel comfortable. Rantoul seems REALLY big and intimidating....but bet it would be fun to just hang out if I had an extra week of vaca. Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  4. Got any pics to share so I know who I am looking for....or you wanna surprise me.....I like surprises....Later Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  5. OK - I have met so many great people the last few weeks Z-Hills is going to keep me busy I think, so Chris....Hey Chris? You still out there? Remember MY name cuz I'm gonna track you down one weekend soon and don't want you looking at me like I have 3 heads when I say "OK, I'm ready for ya, let's go"..............Deal?! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  6. Skymama....I think everyone loves you - no worries! And I offered to jump with you....hee hee.....but who am I. I'll smile the whole way - stable or not............... Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  7. Thanks once again Canuck - any suggestion is appreciated. I'm not above learning, even from words and we all want to be safe. Never having been headdown, don't imagine I'll be holding it to long to worry about anyway....but I sure as hell will try! Chris in Deland...how far are you from Zhills? Maybe I'll treat myself and visit 2 new DZ's this weekend with a "firm" offer like that. All I know is I want to jump lots and would prefer to do as many with at least 1 other person as possible. I am getting so excited for this weekend, I am almost doing the happy dance even though it is raining here.... Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  8. Oh yeah...I forgot I am supposed to be working. Thanks for reminding me. Afterall, I do have to support this "habit" somehow. It is nasty rainy here...hope it is sunny in Z-Hills. Any suggestions from anyone on a first headdown attempt besides giving myself lots of room? Not saying I am going there but just incase - bring a coach right? Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  9. Send pics.....I LOVE PICS! I am a picture freak!!! Only pic I have of me and my rig SO FAR is onthe ground....packing or being a dork and walking around my house cause the weather wasn't jumpable....I'd be more than happy to share those with anyone interested.....hee hee. 10. Head down?...gulp.......Think you can fly me cause not sure I could hold a headdown but hey...I'm game, as long as the air is clear around us. Bring it on................And if you get jumping too much before the weekend I'll miss your 100th (sniff sniff). Get video and maybe someone can snap pics on the ground of your getting creamed....yum! Have fun...be safe! Did someone call me cutie....???? Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  11. I am realizing how lucky I am, being originally from NJ and knowing how the weather can be so crazy up north. But you my friend are also very lucky...you have a Javelin....hee hee. How do you liek your Sabre2? I am liking mine but sure would love a Javelin container. Can't complain - I was given my rig, reserve and cypress "to borrow indefinitely" until I can afford something else......Come visit some time, we'll make jumps. Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  12. I'll teach ya something alright (little Kenny young one)......I am older and wiser. Maybe we can hold hands on the exit and see how the sit flies then......WHOA! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  13. Well I just love pie - although my hips don't care for it...hee hee Not sure I'll hit 100 this weekend thought - my pack job is still a bit slow but I am always game to jump my ass off as long as I have partners. Let's see - 100 minus 82 is 18. 18 jumps in one weekend?.....hmmm. Not sure about that one. Game plan for me due to weather might now be to hit Z-Hills Saturday night or Sunday morning and then jump, jump, jump until sunsetish on Monday. Long drive back to Sebass......Blue skies...Blue Skies....Blue Skies Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  14. Well I'm nobody special but I like your name (Sebastian) and your icon (I love Flounder!)................ Big smiles...head for 100 Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  15. Hey Ranchgirl.....any clue how far The Ranch is from Cross Keys? I am heading north mid July and plan to hit Corss Keys but had a friend who started at The Ranch some time ago (he's overseas right now)....kinda wanted to jump there just cuz......Maybe see ya?! 16. I will for sure get video on the 100th, just hope I can gather a few good folks to make it a memorable jump for me......guessing I'll be in Sebastian for it so if anyone is in the area and wants to play with a new "sit flyer" - sure would love it. Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  17. So this is in Indiana? I am so confused because I see lots of stuff about Ohio and Wayne County. If I make plans, sure want to be at the right place ANNNNNDDDD I am noting your code name and will search you down to make a jump with me...lol By the end of August I should definitely be up over 100...yee-haa! Log book is registering 82 as of today....and the LONG weekend has yet to arrive. Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  18. So nobody's seen Clair huh? Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  19. Ahhh pooh! It seems everything is changing - even the darn weather. Maybe I'll switch my plans around and come Sunday and Monday instead....now I have to shuffle family stuff but family kinda takes a little bit of a back burner these days...sshhhh - don't tell! Well either way - hope to meet up and make jumps with ya some time. I'm sure you'll see my name around DZ.com until then... Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  20. Skymama...did you not say you were going to be in Z-hills this weekend (for some naked thingy...heehee)? I was planning to head there Friday afternoon and play all day Saturday with a new pal from San Diego and a nice lady I met in Sebass this weekend (Libby - great flier). My roomie is a bit freaked about where I'll rest my head between the days but I think all the skydiving people I've met so far can be trusted so if I am offered an AC'd place to crash, even on a floor - I might jump...literally. I'd love to jump with ya......I appreciate jumping with anyone willing to jump and debrief.... Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  21. Continued thanks to all......I'm not sure if I am NOT the normal skydiver but I CHOOSE not to put myself in any compromising positions just yet - even though I am WAY ANXIOUS to jump and be seen with "the cool kids". I know I love this sport, I know I love the newest aspect of it (freeflying) but I also know I don't want to get labeled as the "pain in the ass who messed something up". I still have LOTS to learn and I admit it so that is a good thing, right? I think the WFFC would be a blast but I also would "check things out" before I'd consider jumping in a sky full of canopies. Had a close call under canopy at about jump 40 and it was enough to make me very aware at how dangerous this sport still is, all the way until you are on the ground and parachute back in hand. I need to step outside my home arena and go to some new places to make sure I can deal with the "rush" no matter where I am....ya know - nerves mixed with adrenaline really make you stay on your toes......I can't wait to meet everyone and be ware - I may not have a camera on my helmet yet but I always have one in hand......Wondering where I will be for jump 100 ~ Until then, Denise Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  22. WHOA! The Pink Mafia looks like an awefully fun bunch....might have to make contact there although I must admit - I am not the biggest fan of pink...hee hee Thanks Canuck - got it.....Looks like a busy event that WFFC and was wondering how jumping is. Also wondering what exactly the registration fee is for. Guess I need to do some more research. Is it Friday afternoon yet - I'm ready to make some jumps! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  23. Thanks for the info - either of you know about some "no manifest" boogie or world free fall convention? AirAnn...is that pic you and did you get my email I sent last week with more pics? Just booked a flight for Cross Keys in July - that place should be fun and it is close to fam so I can kill 2 birds with one stone. Had a great weekend sitting and did my first 3-way. I was SOOO excited! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  24. Question to the masses...I am a new freeflier (female) and if I was to get to go 3 places and/or to 3 events this year, where would I want to go? Want to jump as much as possible, learn as much as possible and meet as many faces behind this great sport as possible. I've "heard" about an "original" No Manifest Boogie and WFFC. Just want to make the most of my time and looking for suggestions as I budget out my vacation days. So whats the masses say? Thanks friends, Denise Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
  25. I had the same thought process on "used" gear but let me tell you - there is more room to bargain and in this profession - have not heard or seen many people who would sell you bad crap...like a used car person would. I wanted new gear something bad but then had a rig and reserve HANDED to me and was doing the happy dance for weeks.....still am actually. Not the colors I would WANT, not really the rig I would CHoose if looking, but it is AWESOME. I bought my main from a guy at the DZ (with 300 jumps on it) and have been jumping rental free for over 40 jumps now. Don't be so quick to say NO to used gear. I am surprised at how content I am with mine......Blue skies alll....... Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
