And how was this fixed as no service bulletin was issued on the reserve pilot chute or modifications to the containers to prevent this occurring ?  I know of other occurrences and also that Sunrise was able to reproduce the scenario in the loft.

When I contacted Sunrise after a local jumper had to manually extract the reserve freebag after looking over his shoulder and seeing a fully inflated pilot chute in tow (and it wasn't my pack job so I'm not protective and deflecting blame).     When asked should I replace with new pilot chute - ie. is it better.  They responded that both were acceptable.      I'm not sure that was the answer that the local jumper wanted to hear as the existing one obviously was not acceptable.

As this was not a first occurence of this happening on a Wings and there are others well documented on video.   My opinion was that it hasnt been fixed.   If it was, then we wouldnt see rigs out there with it still occuring.   A bulletin would have been issued, which it hasnt.

I'm not a Wings hater.   I will pack them according to the manual for jumpers that chose them.

The new RPC is of a different design than the previous one. There was no service bulletin because there is no requirement to change it. How long ago was the issue you had at your DZ? I have seen one video of a RPC in tow when the jumper was belly to earth and that video is 10 or so years old with a subterminal deployment on a 250sqft ish reserve.

Personally, I would avoid the Wings container.   If you search through the threads you will see there have been some strange incidents with Wings that just don't seem to occur with other containers.   Resulting in jumpers towing reserve pilot chutes and manually extracting the bag out of the container.     Although people with Wings say mine worked fine when I needed it, It has occurred a number of times and is well documented.   Do I want that as something in the back of my mind every time I jump?

As seen Wings gets a lot of hate from people that aren't up to speed. Everything they said as a rigger is valid. The issues with the reserve pilot chute has long been fixed.

when done with crew for the day hook your RSL back up and you are good to go

This is all you have to do now... Unhook for crew and then hook it up when finished.

    BECAUSE OF DRAG.

You answered your own question on this one.

Not really. With the Mojo, the bridle can be under full tension and still have the Mojo connected. The Mojo will disconnect when the angle between the RSL lanyard and upper portion of the reserve bridle approaches 90° (I don't know the exact number) under tension.

Not sure if you read detecting as detaching but what you say is basically what I was going for. Since tension is the only force applied, the MARD relies on it. Whether that be tension on the RSL lanyard on from the PC.

Your decision but...if any of you single stow just be sure that locking stow ruber bands are not worn or close to break. If you single stow with a worn ruber band on a locking stow, this can break and beging the secuence from there while the other secuence from the pilot chute has begin too, this 2 secuences meet in the middle of the lines and Boom!!! Thats an out of secuence deployment that can lead to a injury, equipment damage or even death by a very hard opening. Be sure before of take any decision about this and dont be complacient about locking stows ruber bands condition. "I want to be like you because he wants to be like me"

3+ year old post, make sure you check this when using search.

Look again.  The MOJO operating principle is closer to that of a Skyhook in that both use a lever to balance the drag of the freebag against the drag of the pilot chute.  (Forget that "race between the reserve pilot chute and the main" stuff.  For most MARD deployments, the bridle is in an inverted "V", up from the bag to the MARD, then down from the MARD to the pilot chute.)  For Wings/Boost and Glide/Ace (and also Sky Anchor, Trap, and whatever Firebird will call their MARD), the operating method depends on detecting whether the bridle is folded or stretched out at the point where the RSL extension attaches to the bridle.

This one also requires detecting if the bridle is under tension.

I'm not sure I understand. Is there a reason why seeing the exact number is that imperative to knowing whether you're going to click through or not? Surely if there are new posts in the section, whether they are 2 or 20, you'd still need to click through to see what they are?

I could understand if there was no indication at all on the main page, but there is still an indication, just not an exact number -- you can still see that new posts have been made to that category. So you shouldn't need to manually go into each category that I can think of. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you.

Also, are you talking about mobile or desktop use?

Basically we can see what the last post was on and if it was new. However we cant see if there are other new posts or new threads. If the last post is on a thread we don't care about we still need to click on the section to open it and see if there are other posts/threads. If there is only 1 post and we can see its on a thread we don't care about we don't need to open the section.

Thankfully this has been resolved as of Friday night, and ads should be able to post without issue.

Is it essential that it exists on every forum category? This can be done, but don't want to add extra content where not necessary. We've added this back to the main forum page. If you go to the primary forum landing page, you can see that the bottom of the forums will now show the latest 10 posts from across the forums.

Big and clunky is a modern design standard. Websites of the early 2000s followed a sense of squeezing everything in together, but with time that style has become seen as a negative user experience. And the modern practices push for more white space and larger, bolder fonts etc. With that said, we realize that the white space in some areas may exceed what is considered a good amount. And we're busy working on adjusting that in places at the moment too. You'll notice that the forum categories are now half the height that they were.

I wasn't able to see it not working in internet explorer, I did test on mine now before responding and didn't encounter any issues?

We may actually remove the descriptions from the mobile forum layout so that its neater and more along the lines what what you're after, the amount of information that gets shown on a screen at any single time. Remove the descriptions will make the categories much easier to navigate. Unfortunately some areas are tougher, like the threads. The size is directly related to the amount of info being shown. If we were to drop the info like "Thread starter" and "Date thread was started", it could be streamlined more.

Thanks, this was something that we had issues with pre-launch but thought we had resolved. I'll look into this too.

Thanks for letting us know, will definitely check this out.

Credit where it is due. The new changes to the layout are much much better on desktop and mobile.

On mobile we don't really need to know how many views and replies there are. It would be more useful to see when the last reply was so we know it is new. Even then, the blue dot is a good enough indicator that there is a new post.

As for IE I cant comment, it may just be a difference in configurations.

I'm not sure you can be a tester with this being your first post. But with that said, if you're going to provide feedback, we'd appreciate you describing your complaints, as saying "It sucks" doesn't really assist anyone.

I had to download google chrome just to be able to respond to this because the cross platform compatibility is terrible.

My DZ's account was one of the beta testers and I am one of the people that has access to it.

    See attached pictures.

    1. Why would you make everything so big and clunky? When you upgrade sites you should streamline things. You really should have topics and posts in the same row and different columns. There is also way to much white space. Compared to BASEjumper (please leave it alone) this is worse than it was.

    2. Doesn't even work in internet explorer.

    3. Mobile isn't terrible. At least you can see the descriptions of the forums on mobile.  It is nice you made it mobile friendly but again, the amount of information per inch is so much less than before, very bubbly and lots of white space.

    4. This was typed in google chrome, just fyi.

    5. Classified, the most useful thing on this site is now under the "more" tab.

    6. I do appreciate the try at an update, but the way it was structured before was much more user friendly.

    7. The new profile page is very nice. I like the customization.
