  1. Thanks again. Think I remember you, you where a group of two or three Finns right? No loops on the rears.
  2. Thanks for the comments! :-) The DZ where this is from is skydive voss. The two australian tandem masters who has been there the last two years, who are two really nice guys by the way(grazy aussies), are also very experienced in mountain flying. Lots of nice mountain swoops has been done this summer! It's getting very popular, and the first accident came this years... no big injuries, only a broken hand. After that accident mountain flying in Norway is more regulated and restricted. The cut-away is a skyhook cut-away. Super fast and perfect reserve opening. Also fun. No plans on a dvd :-) Maybe next fall... Edited to add: the tandem masters had nothing to do with that incident!
  3. Never tried that. A lot easier to take a cessna or the regular jump plane to 8000 feet in 10-15 min than walking all the way to the top of the mountain your self... no roads man :-)
  4. Have edited together some video from this summer of canopyflying in the mountains of Norway. Some of the video is from the extremesportsweek. This is no expedition, takes 15 min from the DZ :-) So visit this link and look at some mountain flying in Norway.
  5. You have a "normal" rig with 3-rings on the reserve risers, a cut-away handle for the "main"-reserve and a belly reserve on the front. If you have the chance to do a skyhook demo you should definately do it! Also, check out the skyhook video here The reserve needs a repack after the jump, normally you would have to cover that your self. With the skyhook installed in your rig you will have a major safety upgrade of your equipment, in my opinion.
  6. I did a demo this summer with one of RWS skyhook demo rigs. I jumped my Velocity 84, released one of the toggles and put a lot of weight on one side leaning in my harness. That gave me a spinning velo. :-) I cut away, the reserve came out suuuper fast and suuuper clean. Not even a question about linetwists in my case.

  8. I have just copied the results from freeflying. Three first rounds are completed. The competition ends at 1800 today and right now it does'nt look like the weather is going to let us jump any more. Dark solid clouds covers the whole sky. som super sweet freeroutines has been shown here at the world meet. Jok'air and Babylon were super impressive, head-to-head eagles ++ + + . Italia also super nice, with blind tracking. The level of freeflying is really high. Nice to see so many teams really fighting for the better score. freeflying Last update: 2006-08-08 - 21:48 Rank No. Nation Rd. 1 Rd. 2 Rd. 3 Rd. 4 Rd. 5 Rd. 6 Rd. 7 TOT 1 357 France 1 - BABYLON 9,1 9,3 9,1 27,5 2 361 France 2 - JOK´AIR 8,9 8,8 9,0 26,7 3 356 Italy 7,8 9,3 8,0 25,1 4 360 Germany 1 - FREEFLY PARATEC 8,0 7,6 7,8 23,4 5 365 Norway - SKYWALKERS 7,0 7,2 7,0 21,2 6 354 Great Britain 1 7,0 6,8 7,2 21,0 7 363 USA 5,8 8,3 6,4 20,5 8 355 Norway 2 - ACTION FORCE 7,3 5,8 7,2 20,3 9 366 Germany 2 - FREIE RADIKALE 6,7 5,2 6,9 18,8 10 358 Australia 6,2 5,8 6,1 18,1 11 359 Russia 5,2 6,3 5,4 16,9 12 351 Austria 2 4,6 5,8 4,5 14,9 13 362 Czech Republik 4,2 5,2 4,7 14,1 14 353 Austria 1 4,6 4,4 4,8 13,8 15 352 Great Britain 2 5,0 3,5 4,7 13,2 16 364 Canada 4,1 3,5 4,6 12,2

The preliminary rounds will consist of 3 events, each 2 rounds, according to the IPC rules: “Speed Carving”, “Distance” and “Zone Accuracy”. Some minor changes may occur to make the courses fit our pond. After preliminary rounds, top 6 goes to final. Scores are zeroed. Final rounds consist of 3 rounds “Carving Distance”. This event was created for the EST Voss 2005 event. Basically you have to do a water displacement through the Entry Gate (if not “0”), then fly as far as possible through the Carving Course. Longest in total are champ. Accommodation: Ekstremsportveko is a really busy period here at Skydive Voss. We have a limited number of rooms available in the big bunkhouse just across the runway. To book a room or bed in advance, you should send a mail to the administration ASAP!! There will also be a big tent camp if you prefer the cheaper solution. Ekstremsportveko: This great event includes organized activities in Skydiving, BASE, Paragliding, Hanggliding, Rafting, Kayaking, Climbing/Bouldering, Big Air, MTB, Freeride and downhill longboard. It is the greatest extreme sport event at our planet, counting around 1200 athletes from over 30 nations worldwide. In addition to the physical challenges, the week also presents great concerts, shows and parties throughout the week. In 2006 among others will play “Georg Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars”, “Danko Jones”, “Cunnin Lynguists”, “Seigmenn” and many others. You have to be a registered competitor at the Ekstremsportveko to attend in any activity. For prize info, program and other details, check out: www.ekstemsportveko.com "
  12. It will always be much easier to get four people on their belly together making some points than to get 3 people together performing well in freefly competition jumps. Freeflying is much more difficult to start with. 4-way VRW is super nice and a lot of fun, even more difficult to begin with and will be popular among some of the experienced freeflyers. But (!) 3-way freefly has the great aspect of being artistic, they can compose their own jumps, express them selves(in some way at least) and teams can do well in the free routines just by having good ideas about a jump an executing them well. You have the possibility of beating very skilled jumpers with thousands of more jumps than you by being creative, having good ideas and performing your competition jump well. In Norway we have had a boost in freefly teams who train and compete in 3-way. Even the army sponsored two freefly teams this year, so in little Norway the "trend" is going in a very positive direction. The federation has also committed it selves to fund the national freefly team the next four years. AE´s is the best place for skydivers to execute all their god creative ideas in a competition :-)
  13. Hi Ori. I am glad to hear you think the event looks interesting, it really is!

    Skydive Space Center

    We were a group of seven freeflyers from Norway who spent about 11 days at Skydive Spacecenter. Our freeflyteam Skywalkers was there for training and we can't recommend it enough! It was super nice! We could jump as much as we wanted, the plane flew to 15000 in 6-7 minutes! The sky and the scenery is very nice the landing area huge and I deffently like the small golfcars coming to pick you up! :-) Super nice, we are coming back!
  17. Already ower 40 skydivers from europe and U.S.A have signed up for this special event. There is a limit on 100 skydivers to ensure everyone a lot of jumping, so sign up!! [email protected]

    Hybrid Go big

    Are there anyone who has experience with big hybrid groups? Groups with many, like 10-12, flyers on their belly and a handful in headup orientation? Any opinions on how the formation should be built? What is the biggest hybrid formation built, and how many of the different type of flyers was it built with??
  21. Skyspirit. You should really check out the video of the danish team at the official website of WM2003. They are two times world champion, WC champions, european champions...they fly ok. Nils and Martin, they have an incredible way of flying and they are super nice people as well. I jump with them a lot during the summer an have learned so much! They jump all winter in Portugal at skydive portugal, and the whole summer at skydive Voss in Norway, Europe.
  22. Due to administrative reasons the week of canopyflying in the mountains has been moved to wek 33, aug. 11 to aug.17, instead of week 32.
  23. I have heard some rumors that they would try to build a new worldrecord freefly formation during the boogie. Anyone who knows???
