    the French

"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion." -- Jed Babbit going to war with out the French is like skydiving with out a anvil " Nice. But I'm not sure I got your point... What else can you do without the French? Can we play with another country or is this only related to France? Is it fair to say that going to war without the French is like going to macDonalds without the French fries?.... wait wait, I have another one: "going to war without the French is like cleaning your feet with your socks on."

Same here. Plus everybody should know European countries, and France especially (obviously), doesn't really care about cheap gas... they love to pay $4 a gallon right now, I'm sure they'd love to pay more if they could. Ok, I'll stay down

    the French

You guys opened my eyes today. I am French and I came here because I thought French people sucked. They are ignorant, dum, they stink and are dirty and above all they hate Americans! I had to get out of there and see what was up here. You know what I discovered? I discovered that there were ass holes here too. I discovered intolerance, and ignorance, like in France! Bottom line 1: you don't have to be French to prove to the world you're an ass. Bottom line 2: the good thing is that there are tolerant people in the US, in France and in the rest of the world that accept our differences. And you know what else? Willing to go to war or not is not only a matter of where you're from, it's a matter of what you think is right. With all the antiwar actions in the world AND in the US, and according to some of you, it could only mean one thing: There is a LOT of French people in China, Russia, Europe, Africa, USA... That said, and to make you happy I also believe freedom is not free.
  5. Yep... true story. Next step: put some tape on his mouth so he doesn't get drunk?
  6. I bought Fly like a pro and pack like a pro. I was really disappointed. Not that the tapes are bad, but because I didn't really learned anything new. I guess I have to thank my instructors and the people who taught me how to pack...
  7. Hey guess what... you were right, I packed in the van yesterday and it wasn't that bad. I didn't get an extra 10 minutes!
  8. Everybody seems to agree, spending a lot of money to get the AFF rating is worth it. But how many years do you need to get your investment back? I have been thinking a lot about going to the pre-course and the course. I got the coach rating and I love it. In one hand I'd love to teach people and on the other hand it doesn't make sense financially. Several AFF instructors even told me they spent a lot of money on the AFF rating, and they managed to pay it back thanks to their tandem rating. Any comment? Phlip
  9. I love it! Too much noise and bad smell due to work on the roof... my boss just asked us to leave the building and go on WE because the conditions were too bad to work. I should try the lotery, today might be the day....
  10. shhhhh! dude they don't have to know that! Plus it's not cool to pick on French people anymore remember? ... poor little Frenchies
  11. see talk back: "what about this extra minute"
  12. We need to get a bigger van ! ... for those who didn't follow the beginning see safety and training : "cypres setting in a moving vehicule"
  13. Setting cypres in the van (leveled to the airport ), pack faster than usual, or shoot less fluff for a tandem's video. Why willing to get this extra minute? How many of us have to rush because the next tandem load is on a 7-minute call or because you want to get something to eat? Is it for the extra time you need to dub a video? For the extra minute you'll have to talk to your student? Or for the extra time you'll spend reassuring this tandem student who's scared. What an extra minute is worth to you? Why do we need this extra minute anyway? Phlip
  14. ok ok I know the van goes down since it has to go from the landing area (450up) to the airport! The question was : "if the car is at the same altitude as the airport and stays level". I agree with you it doesn't make sense to take a risk to save 1 minute, that will be in another thread I guess I also wanted to understand more how this thing work.
  15. I believe the cypres measures the pressure for the altitude and the change in pressure for the speed. Our landing area is 450 feet above the airport, so we need to set the altitude to 450up on every jump. Is it bad to set the cypres to 450up in a moving car that is (and stays) at the airport's level? 16. Hey! I would love to be part of a very big way. How does it work? Thanks, Phlip
