  1. I just saw one of the GK 4way team member's world team suit and it is bad @$$. It had a bootie mod i've never seen...it looked like it kinda used the idea of tracking pants: a mesh air intake just below the knee of each leg that looked like it would be used to "inflate" the bootie from the inside? any word on who they are buying their suits from? they are military so i guess their logos must have been subdued cuz i couldn't find one. thanks.
  2. I've heard rumors about the infinity being tso'd with chestrings soon...is this a new option or just a rumor...whats the possibilty of a harness being retrofitted with rings?
  3. Stilleto 135 @ 1.33 out the door does about 400ft in a 180 using this method: 50% brakes, surge, uneven double fronts to start a carving turn, stop turn with even double fronts at the end of the 180 and release smoothly. flare as necessary
  4. i'm sure the dz wouldn't mind filling another plane either. guess its one of those things we need to go kick our regional directors in the asses about
  5. i agree. i'm only trying to say that they'd be pretty well outmatched in advanced. also, this was the first year an air force team had a top 5 finish. year before they were like 9th and before that i know they didn't really have a competitive finish. but i agree, we do have an advantage.
  6. 150 jumps is more than I HAVE EVER MADE on a team, and I have gone Open both times. It is more that Nemesis did last year, and I think more than Tunnel Vision did. You got to remember your teams and nemesis and tunnel vision all have one other thing in common besides not making more than 150 jumps...either the hours and hours of tunnel time or about 10 years in the sport or both. i know we have big gimme's for for an intermediate team, but i'm not sure you'd see airforce cracking top 10 in advanced with the exception of af blue last year.
  7. and watch out for their team van...these guys got better sponsorship than some open class teams. should be good competition in the intermediate class though. remember matching rigs doesn't make teams good...hard work makes teams good...and you can't buy hard work. maybe some teams don't belong in intermediate but its obvious come game time which teams do and don't (i.e. last years winners in intermediate IMHO). in defense of my air force teams, they are NOT what most people think that they are. they are NOT the GK, they do NOT do 4way as an assignment in the air force. we are jump instructors who volunteer our leave to do competitions. I'm not saying we don't have a good deal, but getting 100 to 150 jumps a year in a 2 year term with the operation does not give much qualification to be in the advanced or open category.
  8. royal blue and yellow hackey came with it...i guess kazer didn't have a match for navy...i wanna get a monkey fist on there anyways...anyone know how to make one or get one? also, the colors are a little off in the picture. The two midflaps are silver with gold piping...maybe i'll get some better pics shortly. thanks
  9. I'm confused. why are customers who were sold defective reserve ripcords being charged for a replacement? or am i just reading this wrong?
  10. Sorry it took so long and the quality aint great but you can see it pretty well i think...maybe if you cross your eyes it'll focus like it should:) Anyways here's the low-down on my new rig PD 126 Reserve Stilleto 135 Infinity I-23 Container - 4 to 5 weeks from order to delivery. Impeccable craftsmanship, all the cuts and seams fit perfect when the canopy is packed neatly. The harness fit a little tight out of the box, but after about 15 jumps now you hardly notice its there. The harness is comfy to wear and is even better in the saddle. This is due mainly to the double wide legstraps in my opinion. I'd compare the Infinity to a cross between a Jav and a Vector 3. Its as bulletproof as a Vector 3 but a little softer when you put it on. It also has the main flap like a javelin. Overall, I don't think i could have gotten a better rig for the money I payed. I don't know what else to say about it other than I'm very happy with it. The only negative i can come up with is that the risers are fitted with velcro toggles which aren't bad per se, but are rougher on your steering lines. Other than that fit, quality, and craftsmanship are outstanding. KellyF really knows how to make a bulletproof rig fit like a glove at a price thats hard to beat. O yeah, and follow that up with sweet customer service. I made a change to the original order about 2 or 3 days after it was sent in and there were no problems. Thanks Kelly.
  11. well...it took exactly 5 weeks to get to my rigger and i picked it up yesterday. and I am impressed. perfect fit, perfect construction, and high quality. i'm gonna post pics this week hopefully but wow...great job kellyf. now i just gotta figure out how to get the brand new zp to go in the bag like its supposed to
  12. all they need to do is make it an "official" medal event and the military academies will compete almost for sure. right now they won't let us because it doesn't count for the "overall" category. also, with freeflying becoming more popular than rw every day i think its more feasable to find competitors in freefly than 4 way.
  13. Do your homework...research your choices...get a good sizing (preferably from the manufacturer themself if you live near them)...and then make your decision...if you get a custom fit rig, something tells me you wont be disappointed. How else could everyone be so happy with their own brand x but not like their friends brand y quite as much???
  14. Any word on whether they're gonna make freefly and sport acc official sanctioned events in 2003? I've heard that they will but don't have anything solid to go on right now...
  15. he also tagged the back of his head on the top of the door on the way out...check it out on the good stuff dvd sometime...
  16. coordination is a biggy...doing 4way you make a lot of mental paths for yourself...teaching your body to move itself through those paths is very physical
  17. or if you're like me and are too impatient to wait for a color swatch from the manufacturer you can sift through pics on the internet of rigs and check out those color combos...thats how i came up with my infinity...vse's website and the pd factory team website to figure out what my colors (navy, silver, and gold) really looked like...i'll let you know what it looks like when i get it:)
  18. And way to go Kelly! Infinitys are a damn' good rig, at a damn' great price! And he's fast? That guy is superman! I'll bet he swoops real nice too! counting the days til i get mine! and i only put the order to my dealer on sunday:) not to mention the free rig you get with the $1299 t-shirt.!
  19. Anybody got any sweet ideas for color combos on new rig? (preferably an Infinity?) pm me, email me at [email protected] or post them here. thanks
  20. it actually eats up more battery life to turn it off manually than to let it turn itself off. Also, i couldn't see the elevation change messing it up unless you jump it somewhere else without re-zeroing it. and i wouldn't worry about the cutter firing unless you drive yourself of a cliff or something...
  21. i've got 400 jumps on F-111. I flat pack them. they open nice. one thing to think about when rolling the nose. The tighter you roll it, the harder and faster it unrolls. Don't know why, but it just does that way.
  22. check out what the aussies came out with in 2002 down under http://www.totalcontrol.com.au/page2.htm looks like a pretty good deal to me any experiences out there
  23. I've heard about some cool stuff coming out at this years symposium. Anybody wanna let the folks who couldn't make it in on any new releases (atair onyx, the new viper container) any other interesting new toys!!!????!!!!
  24. I spose I could just wait two days for Kelly to get back from the PIA symposium but...I'm impatient and want to send my order in this weekend:) Anyhow... Does anybody know how exactly the "back" measurement (crotch to collar) goes? Does it follow the contour of your body or is it the vertical distance straight down off your collar? Also should the measurements be snug or a little loose to make the rig most comfortable. I've gotten 2 sets of measurements done by different people and they match up except for the "Back" one. Help me out. Thanks! Blue ones joel
