  1. Calame and Rhodes claimed a witness identified the tie clasp and tie as McCoy's. This is false, witness was shown a pic and said she recalls McCoy having one similar or possible. Calame and Rhodes exaggerated the witness claim.. this exaggerated claim is used to sell McCoy as Cooper.
  2. More evidence that Blevins has the death penalty law wrong.. Back then you did not need a death during the crime to get the death penalty.. max penalty death.
  3. Checked the McCoy files for the pilot's take on the jump.. The crew saw the red airstair light on.. (It is officially amber but looks red) Felt a movement. Change in pressure. 11:11 - 11:12 radio transmission from crew believed hijacker just exited. Went back and checked, hijacker gone. 11:27 confirmed by radio hijacker gone.
  4. Going through the McCoy FBI files it is abundantly clear that he was not Cooper.. Anyone thinking McCoy was Cooper read the FBI files and that will cure you quickly of that notion. Calame and Rhodes must have known McCoy was not Cooper when they wrote that book, then why? Did they have an agenda to pin NORJAK on McCoy to close it,, knowing that it wasn't him. There is a lot of stuff in the files, most covered before but some interesting points. McCoy was described by witnesses as having a slender build waist up but heaver below the waist. Witnesses had his height from 5' 5" to 5' 10".. Does not have neat handwriting. The only note McCoy left behind.. Artist sketch,, with disguise which was obvious to the witnesses. Witnesses said he had pock marked cheeks, stubby fingers and a noticeable lisp/speech impediment during interview. Scar on cheek.
  5. That begs the question,, did Cossey make it before Hayden bought it?? Hayden bought it with the other back chute at a surplus store, they had Cossey pack it May 21, 1971. Hayden never met Cossey. Cossey got his Master Parachute Rigger certification April 14, 1971.
  6. The chute returned to Hayden SN 226 is a WW2 era tan cotton Pioneer P2-B-24 container with a newer Pioneer sage green nylon "quick fit" harness, date April 1957.
  7. Yup, that is one possibility.. Either.. Tina was mistaken/misquoted and she noticed the light on, not saw it come on. Cooper put the lever back to the up detent then moved it forward again. The crew's first notification was actually the rear door light not the airstair light, so misreported. This is interesting because Rataczak mentioned the increase in noise when the door opened.. Cooper wanted it open but it the noise would have been unbearable.. perhaps it was unlocked on takeoff and physically opened at some point, but when exactly. Joe Lakich,, I don't know a lot about Lakich but the case seems to be based on a grudge, weak circumstantial like many suspects and there is a physical feature Cooper had that Lakich does not. So, It is an interesting story bit no evidence and no physical match.
  8. That has always been my theory,, Cooper did not press the button on the handle.. so no hydraulic assist, just gravity. Now, try and figure out why the unlocked stair light came on at 7:42 (crew) and again at about 8:00 (Tina) and it wasn't the green fully extended and down light.
  9. TINA Mucklow then left the airplane again and returned with the two chest parachutes and made an additional trip to bring in the other back parachutes. She also gave the hijacker a sheet of instructions on how to use the parachutes, but he told her he did not need it.
  10. Blevins is trying to get a group to search the placard find location.. Don't bother.. Facts. Placard came from the outside of a 727/737. (FBI) (ID number lists 727/737 models) Placard was found right under V23 airway. (thousands of jets passed over that spot '71-'78) Placard could have come from any passing 727. (FBI) Placard condition suggests it was recent. (1978) Boeing employee said these things fall off all the time. (FBI) Conclusion, placard did not come from Cooper opening the airstairs, it came from the outside of any passing 727/737 and based on the number of jets flying v23 it is a virtual certainty that it did not come from the outside of NORJAK. Placard is a red herring. The time has passed to put the placard out of our misery.
  11. Air pressure, in the test the stairs did not hit the fuselage,, came within 8" of closing.
  12. Ok, here is my theory on the movie stunt... Clearly, in the movie the airstairs do not bounce up and appear muted vs the images from the sled test which show the airstairs retract to almost closed... First, is the speed, the movie jet looks slow,, but if you look at the image above showing two people jumping. This is not the same cut used for the movie clip, but represents the filming of the stunt. A cameraman goes first then "Cooper" but there is also cameraman (Carl Boenish) on the stairs inside the plane. He appears to be on the pivot section but would be unseen from the outside view. So, it may be that simple, in the movie there are two people on the stairs, the only person seen jumps. The weight of the unseen person on the airstairs mutes the rebound.
  13. That is from the 302's given to Geoffrey Gray.. he released several files and some are available on Shutter's site in the vault, not sure if all of them are there.
  14. Tina is noted as saying she saw the red airstair indicator light come on at about 8:00.. it is officially amber but can be mistaken for red. Since, the crew had previously reported the airstair light on.. this doesn’t make sense. The only options.. Tina was mistaken/misquoted that she saw it come on and it was always on. Cooper moved the lever back to the up detent position then forward again. The first red light reported by the crew was mistakenly noted as an airstair light on the panel but was actually the rear door light. FBI summary.. red light flashed in cockpit. Later, another light flashed showing the ramp was fully extended,, this is impossible.. they may have used Tina's statement of seeing a red light come on here but the stairs were never locked down indicated by a green light.. 727 panel.. light looks red but is officially amber. 727 aft airstair lights for the cockpit are green (locked down) and amber (handle not in up detent and unlocked)
  15. Tina saw Cooper put on the back chute after passengers deplaned but before the two stews left.
  16. Yup, the LZ got narrowed down as the data was evaluated. Problem early on was they didn't know exactly where the plane was at a given time.
  17. There was a "little bob" noted on the FDR at approximately 8:09... that effectively matches Solderlind's time (8:10) and may have been Cooper jumping. The plane was not on autopilot.. Rataczak said he was manually flying the plane. Soderlind noted the earliest Cooper likely jumped was point A, which about 8:09.. just North of the Lewis River... and as you move toward the extremes the jump likelihood drops.
  18. I assume he put the chute on over the raincoat but there is no mention of the raincoat in the files or by Tina.. I find it a bit odd that it isn't even mentioned. The witness not noting the raincoat is irrelevant.
  19. Found out from Rollins interview that this is the same incident,, one report is from the witness's father.. Rollin's talked to the witness and claims the man was dressed in all black.. (white shirt) FWW
  20. Oscillations were visual on the pressure gauge... The "bump" was felt... described as an extreme oscillation on the gauge. The bump is also an extreme gauge oscillation.. They are are simultaneous events. Rataczak, "I could feel the stairs coming down, we then felt a big bump in our ear.. So, when he jumped and left the airplane at that very moment I got on the radio to Air Traffic Control and I said quote I think our friend has just taken leave of us, mark it on your shrimp boats, that's what they call the radar screen"
  21. Chaucer is still confused but he refuses to participate here.. so he will remain so. He is still trying to bend the spoon, there is no spoon.. "they had not yet reached Portland proper, but were definitely in the suburbs or immediate vicinity thereof." Ratazcak was not referring to where he thought Cooper jumped, he thought Cooper jumped near the Lewis River, he was giving a time frame parameter which ends with his call to Solerlind.. Between the last comm at 8:05 and his call to Solerlind shortly after they thought Cooper jumped. 8:05 plus 10 minutes = 10:15 which is about Battleground and the suburbs of Portland.. plus you can probably see the lights from there. The "suburbs of Portland" refers to the call to Soderlind after Cooper had jumped and which he believes had the time recorded.
  22. Cooper was also last seen wearing a parachute,, the man seen was not wearing a parachute,, does that mean he wasn't Cooper. But, was he wearing a raincoat when he jumped, was the chute put over the raincoat.. I have never seen any evidence for this one way or the other. I don't know if the man seen was Cooper but not wearing a raincoat doesn't disqualify him.. Obviously, he could have removed the raincoat for some reason if he jumped wearing one. Maybe he was carrying it, the witness couldn't recall if the man was carrying anything.
  23. He would have jumped at 8:10.. landing just N of the Lewis River.. within the LZ timeframe. Sodlerind has 8:10, the FDR mark is 8:09, others are 8:11 to 8:13 but none are synchronized and some are delayed reporting. 8:09 - 8:15 is the range.. about the Lewis River to Battleground. It would be at the northern end of the LZ.. exactly where Rataczak thinks Cooper jumped.
  24. Though reversals can go beyond TBAR.. I looked at the reverse flow and rejected it for two reasons.. The movement is limited to maybe 3 miles in a tidal cycle. But, only the top layer is reversed by tides and winds, the lower layer continued to flow downstream.. since the money does not float (for very long) it would not be moved in the top layer. There were clamshell dredging operations at the mouth of the Lewis and mouth of the Columbia that subsequently moved material upstream but I couldn't find any specifics.. One big project was the Sauvie Island shore remediation across from and upstream of TBAR.. I can't confirm where that material came from.. and then you need to account for the diatoms. There is just no way figure out the TBAR money beyond theories unless somebody comes forward and admits something like they found some money in the woods and later threw it in the River because it couldn't be used..
  25. There is a coordinate in the FBI files that is interesting.. it doesn't say why. 7.2 miles from the man seen heading W at Fredrickson and Lewis River Road.
