  1. I remember a certain well known WS pilot (Jarno) who gave RAVE reviews on using said canopy as a main... Now ask your self this: Do you really want to spend the same amount of money on some F-111 shit when you can buy a new canopy that will at least triple that in life expectancy??? Fuck it, its only $$$ right? Seriously though, I know a few serious WS pilots who sware by the Epicene... Did I mention I love my storm?
  2. I mainly WS and jump a 170 STORM, and fucking LOVE it! You want a 7 cell
  3. CM24 speaks the truth! That $350.00 GOPRO holder ISN'T what you need, they offer ZERO protection and someone with LITTLE experience should embrace feeling/hearing the wind and use it as a learning tool... What kind of disciplines do you plan on getting into? For you the right answer should be: BELLY, BELLY, BELLY! Don't get good at it, get great at it and then think about getting rad and shredding the sky ;) OR just do a fuck load of hop and pops and get right into that WS!!!
  4. Dave my friend your coming in loud and clear! One jump at a time. I'm 42, if I reach my goal of flying a wing suit off a cliff in Norway before I die, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! ;^) Thanks again. Seriously I'll be happy buying my own rig and being a regular @ the local DZ.
  5. None really. It's two different things. What you could do is look for a skydiving container big enough to hold a BASE canopy, so you can jump your BASE canopy out of a plane to practice with it. You'll want a skydiving canopy for most of your jump, because they open nicer at terminal than a BASE canopy, but you can get a big 7-cell for skydiving and wingsuiting. You'll need a BASE rig as well. I'm guessing you'll want to stack up some BASE jumps before you hit Norway, so look into one of those, and maybe take a BASE course in Twin Falls. It's a 'lofty' goal to wingsuit off a cliff. If you plan to proximity fly the cliff, it's even more of a project. Fugre you'll need a couple hundred skydives to start with a wingsuit, and a couple hundred BASE jumps to take a wingsuit off a cliff, and then a couple hundred wingsuit BASE jumps before you start hugging the wall. The skydives and regular BASE jumps you can make in the US (if you don't mind breaking a few laws along the way, BASE jumping requires some tresspassing and maybe some light breaking and entering). The big wall jumps can only be made in Norway/Europe, so you'll need to find a way to spend some time over there to get your skills together. First order of business, get current and look into the BASE first jump course. Yea it's not an over night sensation. I live fairly close to the new river and BRIDGE DAY so that will be my training grounds... Trust me I've done a little research and know how many bare minimum jumps are required to BASE both here in the states and Norwway... Thanks to all for your responses. I read a bunch of pretty positive remarks about my local DZ in Chambersburg, PA so I'm stoked about hooking up and getting back into the...
  6. Hello everyone. I'm new to the site but not new to jumping. I was at FT BRAGG, NC where I learned to skydive and my last jump was back in 2002. I'm ready to get back into the blue this year and my goal is to train up to flying a wing suit off cliffs in Norway! That being said my question is: what is the best rig type to skydive and also use for BASE jumping? Seven cell? Container? ??? Thanks alot. ~Ski
