  1. Now that's funny, 377. I LOL. Haven't heard from you in a while, 377. All last week with the Cossey homicide, didn't get your take on it. MeyerLouie Hi Meyer, My take on Cossey is pretty dull, no conspriacy, no Cooper links. I represented a lot of burglars back in the day ranging from junkies to kids. Murder wasnt their thing, escape was. Once in a while they'd get confronted and they'd always try to escape rather than fight. They sometimes fought to escape but none killed. Hard to generalize, but burglars are not usually killers even when surprised in the act. I wonder if there are signs of forced entry? If not it raises the possibility that the killer wasnt a stranger. The cops will be looking into his will, joint ownerships and life insurance policies to see who might have stood to benefit financially from his death. Sometimes recently divorced people are slow to change wills and life insurance beneficiaries. Cossey's returned wallet contents included a gambling card. Might be worth looking into his gambling habits and see if he had any heavy past due debts. Loan sharks can get violent if you are past due, but they normally dont kill the debtor. I'd be astounded if his death had anything to do with Norjack. I roll with Occam. He usually gets us to the correct destination. 377 _______________________________________________ Good to hear from you, 377. It's good to finally hear the voice of reason and experience re: the Cossey tragedy. I did know that burglars are runners and usually are not murderers. That's why I felt burglary was not as likely as other possibilities. As you stated, it seems reasonable now to look into Cossey's personal life and dealings and any wills or policies in place, then try to figure out who might have a motive to do him harm. I've got some other thoughts to run by you about the case, but I will reserve comment for now. I have enjoyed reading the original DZ thread where you, Safecrack, and Ckret got into some serious analysis. It's rich, informative, and though-provoking. Heck, you were writing 3 or more paragraphs regularly, with some hard-hitting analysis. I am going to re-read those exchanges between you, Safecrack, and Ckret -- they're classic, and some of the best exchanges I've ever read since I've been here. MeyerLouie
  2. This is the closest you've come to putting Duane in a chute. Sounds like a skydiver to me. 377 _______________________________________________ Now that's funny, 377. I LOL. Haven't heard from you in a while, 377. All last week with the Cossey homicide, didn't get your take on it. MeyerLouie
  3. Oh, please Drama Queen, you gotta be kidding! Yes, I have a personal issue -- it's you. So, you're an expert criminal investigator now -- it's amazing how many hats you wear. I have my hunches about the Cossey homicide, but I'm going to wait until the official report comes out. It's better to reserve comment lest one sound like a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt. For you, it's too late -- a long time ago, Drama Queen. MeyerLouie ____________________________________________ Blevins said: You sat there and called my theories 'wild speculations' along with a bunch of other crap. But it didn't take a Brainiac to figure out that burglary was the most likely possibility. You tossed that idea right out the window, not because of the facts (20-40 burglaries in the neighborhood over the last 12 months), or the timeline, (Cossey accounted for Monday night, comes home late, found dead in garage, cops think he died late Monday or early Tuesday)... ____________________________________________ Blevins, read my response above, it still holds, I guess you weren't listening. I'll type a little louder and slower then. I lived in a bad neighborhood in Spokane, there were burglaries every day in my neighborhood, but we didn't get burglarized. Maybe it wasn't a burglary at all. So hold your 3-breasted horses, buster, why don't you wait until they say it's a burglary before you go on pontificating your wild ass theories about it. Okay, I'll play your little game -- maybe, just maybe, if you look at the probabiliities involved with homicides, there's a very high probability that a family member or friend was involved. If the lock was jimmied or security system tampered with (which you have no information about -- yet), then I might be inclined to think burglary. But what if nothing was tampered with, locks, security system (if Cossey even had one, do you know?). Then it's possible Cossey knew that individual and voluntarily let him or her into his house. Or someone was able to get into the house because they knew where the key was or got access to the security code, and laid in wait. Or maybe it was a burglary gone bad. Point is, Blevins, you don't know anything about anything at this point.. What I've just typed in this paragraph is nothing more than wild speculation. Wait for the experts to do their job, Clouseau ("I suspect no one, I suspect everyone"). MeyerLouie ____________________________________________ Bonney Lake, Washington? Just a wild guess. Come on, its a joke. ____________________________________________ You made a funny, Blevins....I laughed on the inside...... no really, I did........ I ask the question again, where does a guy like Cooper come from? I think it's a valid question. Knowing that might narrow the field. How many guys out there have nerves of steel and ice running through their veins -- to the degree they can calmly and purposely put themselves in a dire, no-turning-back, life and death situation -- and act like it's about as big a deal as going out and getting the newspaper? I'm betting people like this are uncommon -- few and far between -- like a special forces guy who has some serious, kick-ass, special training -- and courage to match. Special forces, paratrooper, special military assignment -- might this be the world DBC came from? MeyerLouie
  4. Jo wrote: Balls as big as a HOUSE! Well, guys I took that one VERY literally. Not just his CB handle WORLD GREATEST JOCK CARRIER. Duane PACKED a pretty large package around with him! No, He had NO prostrate issues. _________________________________________________ Jo, this is funny. It's not like you -- the innuendo. Did they call him "Big Guy" or was it just a rumor? MeyerLouie
  5. Blevins wrote: Uh...you will have to explain to me how those bullet points are wild speculations. I think they are the most likely explanations. ..... _________________________________________________ Who give a rat's ass about your ridiculous analysis and "reality-base theories" of the Cossey homicide? It's too much information, Blevins -- wild speculation, a bunch of happy horseshit! MeyerLouie _________________________________________________ If everyone had your attitude about never discussing any crimes, not only would this thread be non-existent, but the Boston Marathon bombers would probably still be on the run. Are you sure this isn't a personal issue? _________________________________________________ Oh, please Drama Queen, you gotta be kidding! Yes, I have a personal issue -- it's you. 6. Observation: Creepy! Maybe he is lurking RIGHT here on this thread, Bruce! Thread carefully - you have been dealing with the Devil himself! Maybe you are next! YOU think? ________________________________________________ Hey, Jo -- that's really creepy. I mean....really. MeyerLouie
  7. I have a 6th possibility that I didn't mention previously, but the truth is I don't like thinking about it. It has to do with anyone who may have stood to gain financially by Cossey's death. The cops will look at that of course, and check for alibis. _________________________________________________ Or your imagination is totally out of control. Why all the wild speculation about Cossey's demise? You take up paragraphs, Mr. 25%-er, in wild speculation about someone you didn't even know, and whose expertise you had no respect for, Mr. I-Don't-Care-What-You-Came-Up-With-At-Amboy. Don't you ever watch reality forensics and cop shows, like Forensics Files and First 48? The cops and scientists are going to conduct their investigation, the evidence will be collected and analyzed, maybe there'll be an autopsy -- and when the investigation is completed, the results will be reported. Why don't you wait patiently for that report -- like normal people do. You know nothing about many of the particular circumstances of the case. So chill out, wait for the report like everyone else, and quit taking up air time speculating wildly. You've even come up with 6 bullets -- one per theory! MeyerLouie

  9. Cooper asked that the NWA people in Seattle send out some food for the crew. I believe they sent out six meals (or sandwiches) for the five people on board the aircraft. Cooper did not ask for or get one of those meals. The food Cooper took from the rear of the aircraft was things like soft drinks and snack foods such as peanuts which were routinely carried for kids on the flights. There was no meal service on the flight between Portland and Seattle (mid-afternoon and only about 40 minutes flying time total). I believe the military has/had a survival manual that on how to use a parachute canopy for shelter. One canopy would be sufficient for Cooper. Perhaps Amazon can elaborate on the above. Robert99 __________________________________________________ Okay, Cooper didn't take any of the delivered food, I got that. However, Robert99 says Cooper probably took some peanuts and other little packaged goodies from the galley, in the back of the plane. In terms of survival, that makes sense -- those little bundles of protein are going to hold you over -- for a while anyway. They're compact, nutritious, and easy to carry. Again, my points is still intact -- taking this kind of food, along with the dummy chute (to fashion a pancho, lean-to, and/or foot protection), may indicate Cooper was planning to brave the elements that night. A cold, windy, rainy night in the woods is bone-chilling -- hypothermia is a real possibility, and it wouldn't have taken that long (a few hours) for it to set in on a night like that. Cooper had to have planned for that inevitability. It's possible he had wilderness survival expertise and maybe even more jumping experience than we are giving him credit for. A paratrooper -- out of McChord, maybe? One thing is for sure, the guy had nerves of steel -- he was cool as a cumcumber in an incredibly intense, highly stressed situation. To put himself in that situation, under those cirucmstances -- well....the guy's got balls as big as my house. Incredible. Where does a guy like that come from anyway? MeyerLouie
  10. Have you discussed this with the walrus.... goo goo ga goob???? _________________________________________________ "Goo goo ga goob?" And you are criticizing me for not acting like an adult here? ........ MeyerLouie WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH... That is the sound most people heard as you missed the reference. Responding to the other childish personal attacks.. is pointless. _______________________________________________ But apparently that doesn't stop you from doing it -- hey I'm tired of this pissing contest, how about you? MeyerLouie
  11. You aren't missing anything. The dummy chute was worthless for jumping. But if Cooper attached that chute to the front of his back pack harness by some jury rigged means, then it would increase his chances of not finding the already oddly located right side rip cord on a very dark night. Basically, it would add to the already high probability that Cooper was a no pull. _________________________________________________ It was pointed out earlier that Cooper took some crew rations, meaning he intended to hang tough in the elements for the night. So, since we have never found the dummy chute, why wouldn't it be possible that he took it with him -- to fashion a pancho and a lean-to so as to keep him warmer and dryer and help get him through that wet cold night? In addition, a rig being harder to use or pull wouldn't eliminate it, in Cooper's eyes. He improvised and adapted up to this point, why wouldn't he continue to do so with the chutes? I remember that night, the rain, wind, and cold were inescapable. I think Cooper (or anyone in the elements that night, for that matter) would have used anything available to improve his chances for surviving the elements that night. That extra chute, then, could very well have been a life saver. MeyerLouie

  13. __________________________________________________ Let's see now, when I think of someone who is 'intelligent,' who's the first person that pops into my mind? Amazon, of course. Actually, the exact opposite, Mr. Amazon -- you talk like someone who hangs out a biker bar -- a little rough around the edges, Tough Guy. MeyerLouie
  14. _________________________________________________ My search for Amazon in posts made with any intelligence 0 returned 0 results in 0.000s -- whatever the hell "s" means. My numbers seem a little down -- I'll have to get on it! So, I guess this means you're a Blevins fan -- he could use one. MeyerLouie I am a fan of adult discourse... which was again lacking in the post you just made. MOMMIE HE TOUCHED ME AGAIN.... Sorry at some point little boys are supposed to grow the fuck up. _________________________________________________ Hey Amazon, "MOMMIE HE TOUCHED ME AGAIN" doesn't sound much like adult discourse to me, not to mention the f*** word. If you're going to accuse someone of not acting like an adult, then you shouldn't act like a child yourself while you admonish someone else for acting childish. Same with the posts tally you did earlier -- you accused some of us of being bean counters, but in so doing, you were bean counting. A bit hypocritical, wouldn't you say, Dr. Amazon? MeyerLouie
  15. _________________________________________________ Gee BK, you gotta quit sugar coatin' things -- just come out and say how you really feel! I'm giving monkey poop a thumbs down, I'm goin' with bat shit. Don't kid yourself, BK -- there's lots of jobs out there -- Texaco Lifer, Pearl Diver from Yuma, Flea Collar Tester down at the dog kennel, Ex-Exxon Exec,... With a big pile of doodoo like that, I figure there's gotta be a pony under there somewhere! Keep smiling. MeyerLouie
  16. It's possible that since Duane was freshly out of prison, he may have gone straight. Many do, after a few stretches in the can, especially with a parole officer breathing down their neck. ... _________________________________________________ Oh really Blevins. Sure about that? Speaking again n things you know little to nothing about? I noticed you did your infamous line item veto, item-by-item on Jo's post. Yeah, I've seen so many inmates scared straight because of their parole officers. It's a fact Blevins, prison has reformed most of its criminals. I've noticed most criminals confess their crimes, find religion, and then find good paying jobs too as ex-cons -- after having no problems reuniting with their families. You got it, Blevins, you hit the nail right on the head -- again. Maybe -- just once -- look a little closer, do a little research -- you have no idea how tough it is for ex-cons to re-integrate back into society. So many end up re-offending, so few really make it back -- and not from any lack of effort. Jeez Blevins. MeyerLouie

  19. Robert replies: I thought you were the guy who figured anyone asking questions about the Amboy chute was The Center of the Universe? The FBI doesn't owe me a thing, Meyer. Not even an answer. I questioned some points on their investigation into the chute, but not for my benefit. It was because the questions, I thought, needed to be asked..... blah, blah, blah! _________________________________________________ Blevins: Why does your answer have so very little to do with my original statement? You go off on these crazy tangents, often times irrelevant to the original conversation. How many million times are you going to repeat your Amboy-Chute-FBI-F***-Up Theory? It's deja vue all over again with the KC broken record. Write a report, send it off to the FBI, then maybe you'll be quiet. It happened with KC, maybe it can happen with Amboy. You know, Blevins, there is help for OCD. You've started again. Either you're off your meds or you quit going to your On-and-On Anon 12-step meetings. Get back on that horse, Blevins! I know you can do it, big guy. MeyerLouie
  20. One of the things that always bugged me about the Amboy chute doesn't really have anything to do with Cooper so much. It's my understanding that the lines were cut. Did the FBI cut the lines or were they already cut as buried. If you're digging anyway - why cut lines? go on and see what's on the other end. My curiosity - no matter how old the chute was and even if I had already ruled it out for being Cooper's, (which may be what happened) would have been to get the entire rig out of the ground. Just because it's a WTH? - how did this rig get out here? kind of thing. Unfortunately we don't have agent Carr to kick around anymore or we could ask him.
  21. In Duane's wallet was piece of 1-1/2 by 1-1/2 fabric with pinked edges. Note I did not say a pink piece of fabric. I told this to JT and to Mr. Himmelsbach during the first yrs. I thought it was a piece of prayer cloth. _________________________________________________ So, Jo, what was Duane doing with a prayer cloth? That's kind of an unusual thing for a career criminal to possess. When did he take up prayer? The only prayer I've ever heard a career criminal pray is, "Don't let me get caught!" Or..... maybe it was like the prayer the little girl prayed really hard for that night -- after she accidentally walked past daddy's computer in the "man cave": "Please God, help daddy get enough money to buy all those girls some clothes." Now, don't get mad, Jo -- it was just a joke. MeyerLouie
  22. Robert replies: Name one other outside expert the Seattle FBI consulted on the Amboy chute. Just one. The Seattle FBI, in articles, said they were planning to consult outside experts by telephone regarding the chute. But less than 48 hours after that announcement, they went public with the silk-not-nylon explanation. (after a few minor gaffes along the way) No experts were ever named, nor were the results of any research ever made public about the chute, except for a statement saying they (Seattle FBI) would no longer discuss it. After that, Citizen Sleuths were not allowed to examine it, even though they offered to do so. In some earlier articles, (the total length of time it was investigated was just over a week) the Seattle FBI said the chute was being examined in their local lab. Nothing was said about any results discovered from that examination, nor did the Seattle FBI even mention the lab when they finally wrote it off. _________________________________________________ I wasn't aware the FBI was obligated to report in to you, Blevins. Maybe they did lots of things, like consult outside experts, and just didn't find it necessary to check in with you and run things by you. The FBI won't necessarily play their trump card because you think they ought to. Just because they didn't tell you what you think they ought to have told you doesn't mean they didn't do a good thorough examination...... It may come as a shock to you, Blevins (Are you sitting down?), but the universe does not revolve around your belly button. I know, I've just traumatized you with this stunning revelation. I suggest you get some good counseling -- you'll be back on your feet in no time. Another point: Why not take the picture of the packing card from the Hayden chute (that Bruce provided, the chute that's at the Tacoma Museum) and compare it to the card or visual characteristics from the Amboy chute? Based on that comparison, the amboy chute could possibly be ruled in or out as the one that Cooper used (Mr. Sailshaw, I hope it's okay with you to share this). MeyerLouie
  23. __________________________________________________ Thanks for the clarification, that helps a lot. Is there any way to get the Tacoma Museum to let you check out the Hayden chute now? I can drop in and ask some questions, and then let you know. You are one of a select few who has tagged DBC an experienced skydiver. Several have said an experienced diver would not have done the things he did -- I'm sure the forum will continue that coversation at a later time. I get a feeling you may be right, or at least DBC knew more than he was letting on. MeyerLouie
  24. Thanks Georger for the clarification for putting up all those posts -- they helped a lot -- much appreciate. MeyerLouie
