  1. What is the name of that song with the lyrics: "Fuck you! I won't do what you tell me!" I like that one. I think it sets a nice tone.
  2. Ranks as one of the worst movies I've ever seen. BLECH! Doesn't deserve to be remembered. You are way out of line sir! I think the hallmark of a skydiving classic it that it is a bad movie which totally misrepresents the sport. Half the fun of watching one is picking apart how awful it is. That said I still think there needs to be real skydiving in it. Otherwise, the worse it is the better it is.
  3. Can't seem to find a cheap deal on that collection. It'll cost as much as all the other skydiving movies I bought put together. Shame it can't be purchased individually. Also, what is the take on Reign of Fire as a "classic" skydiving movie. Sure skydiving played huge role in the movie (skydivers saved the world accomplishing what nukes could not). But every bit of the unrealistic skydiving was filmed in front of a green screens.
  4. No no REALLY they ARE... umm.. I mean... were.
  5. I'm actually watching the Blue Angels practice outside my window right now
  6. This post seems to have already hit the topic. I can't find "The Skydivers" in anything but in a Mystery Science Theater 3000 DVD. Totally forgot about Reign of Fire. Hate to say it but that movie qualifies. Wish I could track for over a minute and a half exitting from a low altitude helicopter.
  7. Sounds Perfect! and thank for the PM on Honeymoon in Vegas. Anyone else think "Honeymoon in Vegas" qualifies?
  8. So I'm looking to put together a library of all the Classic Hollywood Skydiving Movies. So far here is what I'm getting. Point Break Cutaway Drop Zone Terminal Velocity Gypsy Moths Fandango any other recommendations? I'm not really interested in anything that was totally done in a studio or just kinda had a skydiving scene in it like Charlie's Angels, James Bond, Tomb Raider II, or XXX. They just don't seem to qualify as skydiving classics.
  9. Hey Stretch. You certainly seemed to be enjoying yourself. It was great to hang out with you. Hopefully I'll see ya around again sometime soon. Feel free to pay your beer debt off then.
  10. I wouldn't say I walk around in them. But certainly on warmer days I only wear underwear under my jumpsuit. Most of the guys and girls I jump with in Byron have very little issue with being seen in our undies as we are suiting up.
  11. Hey now. That would mean mine was 100% negative. Far from it perhaps I should have put more emphasis on some of the great things I got to do any see there. Such as visiting Arches National Park and witnessing a base jump. Certainly my one off DZ landing was the high point of my trip. High winds!!! Damn those are my favorite. Seriously, it's a good thing Q and I got his plane out of there early that morning or I might not have been able to make it home as planned.
  12. I just returned from Moab, Utah after the 2nd Annual "Mother of All Boogies" Sunday afternoon and I want to say I had a fun time. The scenery was amazing and I met some really great people. Some of them new and many I've had the pleasure of meeting before. Certainly as a young boogie at a place that does not appear to regularly host a large number of experienced jumpers they did a nice job. Saturday was a frustrating day for many as the high turnout and limited aircraft slots resulted wait time for a load exceeded an hour and a half. This apparently was due to extenuating circumstances. We have been assured that there will be more planes next year. There were a couple things that I would love to see at future boogies at Moab to greatly foster the sense of community that really draws me to skydiving events. The biggest thing I noticed is how everybody scattered after a day of jumping. I can honestly say that this is something I have never seen at a boogie before and it is something I would be happy to never see again. Certainly people can and should be able to come and go as they please but if you can give people a reason to stay together then you can just stand back and watch the magic happen. Access to a car was pretty much mandatory. If you were shuttled to the boogie and camped out at the airport, you had to count on other people to tote you around to take care of simple things like getting a shower and getting to the location for that evenings festivities. It makes sense to keep skydivers sleeping within easy stumbling distance of where they are drinking. Let's face it... It's a hard thing to find a designated driver and a skydiver in the same person. Skydiving is dangerous enough let's not top the night off with a DUI or worse. Asking people to pull up stakes to camp at a remote location for one night is optimistic at best. If you are charging 40 bucks to register there needs to be FREE beer EVERY night not just one. That said, good work to the responsible parties for addressing the issue on Saturday night. Friday night was definately a step in the right direction. I realize that it can be expensive but portable or temporary shower facilities would have made a huge difference. The desert is a dusty place and going without a shower isn't necessarily going to make you the most popular guy on a airplane. If people have to take a shower at campground or hotel miles away then they will be much less inclined to camp at the DZ to begin with. The best thing that can be done to build the sense of community is to keep em coming back. I love seeing familiar faces. Regulars have a way of establishing traditions that give boogies a life of their own. If you've ever been to Lost Prairie or the WFFC than you know what I mean. My last recommendation would be to slow down jump run. I'll sacrifice a couple hundred feet to keep from having my exit screwed by being ripped off the side of the plane by the relative wind. Hopefully this doesn't come off as being too critical. I realize that there could be complications that I'm not aware of. I truly enjoyed jumping in Moab and feel the pros certainly outweighed the cons. I look forward to meeting all who attended again. I had to leave early Sunday morning. Did I miss anything special?
  13. It was dangerous!!! You could have been rendered sterile. And then how would you pass on your amazing backtracking genes?
  14. [BUMP] So what do you think? Submit it to AFV? Seemed to recall back in the 80s they loved that kind of stuff.

    Dingleberries

Wow that is the second worse photo I have ever seen of me. Sure am glad to have it on the Internet. As for Anvil. That boy has the strength of an ant. Which is to say he can carry 10 times his own body weight. I seriously feel sorry for the big lout that underestimates him. And best of all he's got no little guy complex. You'll have a hard time meeting a nicer guy.

OK that is farging great. I'm totally adding that to my 8th grade vocabulary. Thanks guys but fair is fair. Replies after coaxing don't count Besides The Rack (TM) v2.0 never even bet against me. She had as little faith in you all as I did and encouraged me to test my experiment. Guess you proved us both wrong. It's best to temper Byron Love with a little bit of hate lest' our dingleberries turn into cute fuzzy bunny rabbits.

OK looks like I was mistaken. I told The Rack (tm) v2.0 a.k.a. mcneill79 that I could get 10 replies in here just by posting the word dingleberries. I guess I underestimated the standards of people that post on Bonfire. Doesn't help that SpeedRacer started off by mocking anyone who even read it! Hats off to you guys. Next time I'll give the posters in the Bonfire a little bit more credit... ...very little
  18. Got the latest DVR from my cable provider and love it! It even converts High Definition broadcasts to NTSC (standard US TV signal) and for those of you who haven't seen it yes converted HD does look better than regular digital cable plus you can get dolby digital audio. Honestly don't know how many hours it stores I'd say about 24 hours. Certainly less than TiVo. Super easy to use. Great quality. One complaint (any perhaps my roommates complaint as well) is that I'm spending WAY too much time on the living room sofa watching movies and my favorite shows. The second problem is that I can't archive anything I've recorded over my home LAN. Guess people get past this with a modified TiVo or a computer set up to work as a DVR. I would say if you are forking out the bucks for cable. DVR of some form is well worth the extra money.
  19. As if he could keep you out of his shots! Can't believe you ruined that exit shot of Anita and Alana by sticking your mug out the door. I should have had Iwan photoshop it out before I ordered that poster sized print.

    WHOORE

That's weird. I thought you left a donation. Who told you?!?! But seriously I think of what I leave as more of a deposit than a donation. Especially since there a good chance of a penalty for early withdrawals.

Whores get paid. I merely accept donations.
  22. 4 man tents are Just big enough for one person (or two people who are very comfortable with one another). Don't be so discriminating. Non-hotties (not that we have anything but hotties in Byron) need luvin (or places to sleep) too. Editted to add: You might want to talk to Ball Sack. He's probably looking for a cuddle buddy.
