virgin-burner 1 #2 April 29, 2011 what's that with the edges on stuff nearby!? looks like morphing almost..“Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
mccordia 73 #3 April 30, 2011 Judging the look its Twixtor, and the motion vectors having difficulty predicting/tracking the movement of objects through the scene. Causing some smearing and warping of the image.JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
DSE 3 #4 April 30, 2011 I'd concur. Twixtor is the new black. Stepping up the resample rate would probably fix those torn edges. It's fun to see it applied, but if you want really great slo-mo...fly a Phantom
LukeH 0 #5 April 30, 2011 Hi Jeb, That's a really cool video. I really like the effect, have always like your edits. I've loved your older videos with cool aerials and cutting edge stuff but your WS flying style is getting a bit passe. Seeing you fly in high dive at a particular point, pass by close and they fly off high. It's more balls than skill. Where is the progression from there? You can only pass a point so close. Looking forward to something new like the landing stunt, WS aerobatics etc.
Yorick 0 #6 April 30, 2011 On the one hand I love the tiny little details that slow-mo gives you ... very beautiful. :) But on the other, you lose the sense of speed and action that makes the sport so spectacular."The 'perfect' parachute jump was thought to be one where the opening shock and touchdown were simultaneous" -Lyle Cameron, ~1965 --- Falling-With-Style.com
johnmatrix 21 #7 April 30, 2011 I like the effect though, even if it is slightly distracting. That could have won an Oscar in 1988. ;)
mccordia 73 #8 April 30, 2011 Its a nice video, but a shame the effects arent used in a better way. The warped trees and moving grass take me out of the video quite a bit (though granted, for me thats part work/annoyance). I used the same program/plugin to generate the slowmotion shots (100 fps up to a few 200 fps) from 25 fps shots in this video on www.vimeo.com/10091309. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
