Weeeee 0 #1 July 7, 2008 Hi, i am buying a new audible alti. Some people in this forum have said the neptune (2 ?) sometimes misses the beginning of a jump. I am curious what alti's are used and who's works reliably, for logging flight info, as well as beeping...
phoenixlpr 0 #2 July 7, 2008 I have a Neptune, but I use it as visual alti. Optima is the best audible I've used so far: 4 freefall profile with 3 alarms + swoop guide.
millertimeunc 0 #3 July 7, 2008 I use a Pro-Track for my audible and a Neptune to record freefall data. Works great for me.The best things in life are dangerous.

DSE 3 #5 July 7, 2008 I wear three... Altitrack on my wrist Galaxy on my chest or mudflap Optima in my helmet Optima is wired to my camera indicator, so not only do I hear it, I see it too. IMO, Optima is the best audible out there. I like the NeoXS as well, but it doesn't have output for light.
Bill_K 0 #6 July 7, 2008 Optima in my helmet AltiTrack on my wrist. Love my Alti!! I don't download to my PC nearly as often as I should, but it's a great recording device. Next up I want to get a GPS to play with too.
QuietStorm 0 #7 July 8, 2008 Three (3) Altimeters: I wear an Altimaster Neptune in one of those Square 1 gloves with a pocket designed for it. I really don't use it under wingsuit flight but like it on my hand out in the airstream as a data logger. I still have not got around to downloading to Paralog though and using all the software features......too busy in my work life. I have an Altimaster Galaxy mounted on a BoneHead mount to my container mudflap. I use this under wingsuit flight. For some reason the "analog movement" of the needle for altitude vs. time in the air "works" in my head better. In my helmet I wear a L&B Optima. 4,500 ft for break off, 3,000 for pull, and 1,500 siren hard deck to go for handles. I also like the adjustable canopy alarms that sound off. Even though I have a "sense" of low altitude under canopy I still like the audible chirps. I also like to fly listening to my I-Pod in my Oxygen A-3 Full Face Helmet. The helmet is very quiet, I can hear the music great, and I can hear the Optima alarms over the music quite well. Music of choice will flying; trance of course! Its even more surreal when you fly your wingsuit on a night jump. Have Fun!
