sporty 0 #1 August 17, 2003 OK, here's the story.... I have a two pin Cypres fitted to my existing rig. I have a new container on order and expect delivery within a week or so. Only just realised though, the new kit is a single pin, can I use my old two pin Cypres on a single pin rig just by disconnecting one of the cutters? Hope so or else I'll need to get a new one... slotperfect 7 #2 August 17, 2003 You'll need to get it converted to a 1-pin system. Airtec/SSK lists that service HERE at no charge for models with the non-field replaceable cutter. Call them and ask what the specifics are. Hope this helps!Arrive Safely John
D22369 0 #3 August 18, 2003 Couldnt he just route one of the cutters and cables out of the way?, and only use one of them? he could then have it modified when its due its four year inspection.... RoyThey say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
sporty 0 #4 August 18, 2003 Yeah, that's what I was hoping! It's due for scrapping in June next year anyway, so was hoping not to invest any time/money on it as I'll be getting a Cypres2 soon anyway.... Can anyone confirm that this is the case? AirtecKai 0 #5 August 18, 2003 Yes, it can be done that way: The installation of a 2- pin Cypres in a 1- pin container can be done and is safe when the following points are considered: One cutter has to be installed as usual in the cutter elastic. The second cutter must not be installed to cut the loop, it has to be stowed in a way that it does not interfere with a reserve opening and in a way that the cutter cable is not kinked. The best place to stow the second cutter is in the cable channel for the control unit cable, beside the control unit cable. slotperfect 7 #6 August 18, 2003 Wow! I did not know that was possible! Thanks, Kai! I stand corrected! Sorry I misspoke, sporty! Arrive Safely John
slotperfect 7 #7 August 18, 2003 BTW - it's GREAT to have another CYPRES expert on board. Cliff Schmucker of SSK is registered but doesn't post much. There are a TON of CYPRES threads here, sometimes ending up in raging debates. I'm sure your input will be a help to all of us.Arrive Safely John
