Grabbing Youtube vidoes?

Recommended Posts

If you use Safari browser on a Mac, use the "Window" pull down menu and select the "Activity" window. In this window you will see everything that is being downloaded for any given page. Look for the biggest file, and double-click it. The file will be downloaded to your "Downloads" folder.

FWIW, I use the FlashGot add on with Firefox.
It is regularly updated so it is only occasionally that some site plays video using a method that it can't capture. A button appears when there's video that it can capture. It can also be used to grab a bunch of photos linked from a web page, etc.

For really tough stuff, I use HiDownload, that intercepts streaming media, but that's paid software.

Don't grab other peoples hard work. Buy a video camera, get the shots that you love, put them to music, put it on youtube, call it your vid......then find it somewhere else on youtube or elsewhere, with someone elses name on it. Wow, look, they got five stars and a big pat on the back.....for your video. Rip off.
Life is short ... jump often.
