Time lapse w/ Canon 400D

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to make a time lapse with Canon 400D, set the camera to take a picture every 30seconds or so.

I did a search and have done time lapses before just not with this camera

Yeah - EOS Utility has a add on called eos capture that can do interval shooting, but yes, you have to have it hooked up to the computer.

Someone did it in bonfire a couple of weeks ago with their thanksgiving meal, they had their camera and laptop on a mantelpiece and let it run.

Yep... you can do it... I have done a few Time lapse vids with my 350D. basically you set up the canon software to act as an intervalometer (and it also saves the files)

I believe it is an option when you plug it in through the camera window. The bundled software will allow you to shoot photos up to every 5 seconds... if you want to shoot faster frames (I usually can get 2 secs between frames) you can buy DLSR Remote Pro here http://www.breezesys.com/ a nice program for even more then Time lapse.

I'd also ususally shoot in manual exposure.

If you have questions feel free to send me a PM or something... :)
