24mm 1.8 or 28mm 2.8 Canon

sorry, I wont actually answer your question, but did you consider the Sigma 24mm 1:2.8 ?
I own one for years and I'm really happy with it (the price is good too).
I'm not sure one needs 1:1.8 for skydiving : we usually have enough light up there to use 4 to 8 setting , so...
Plus, hi aperture wide angle lenses are usually pretty heavy and more prone to distortion than the 2.8.
