Heatwave Trim Specs

Recommended Posts

I was asked to post this in a different thread, thought it should have its own thread...

Here's the trim specs for a Heatwave (170) from PISA:

Quote

HEATWAVE 170 Base Line A 135 1/8"

1 & 10 A to B 2 3/4"
B to C 5 3/4"
2 & 9 A to B 4 "
B to C 7 1/2"
3 & 8 A to B 1 7/8"
B to C 7"
C to D 9 1/4"

4 - 7 A to B 2"
B to C 7 7/8"
C to D 9 1/4"

Full Flight 8 1/4" Above D
Brake Setting 2" Below C

As just a normal guide to field checking your HEATWAVE 170 for line trim
uniformity ,
just lay the canopy out as you normally would just before packing , putting
tension
on the lines and canopy. Then grasp all the 5 A lines or front lines for
center cells
4, 5, 6, and 7.

They should all be the same length. When they start to change by an inch or
so from
their neighbors , then it's time to re-trim your lines.

There are no new revision levels between the 1997 HEATWAVEs and 2003.

P.S. I heard some talks about new rounded nose on heatwave from 2000 - it's not true.

Thanks dudes,
Sharing trim specs is a great idea.
Currently I am waiting for PISA to mail me a line kit for a Heatwave 150 and plan to install it as soon as I return from PIA.

I have trim charts for dozens of other canopies, just tell me which ones you want me to post.
