MattM 0 #1 March 28, 2003 Put a slip'n'slide on the landing area... jump barefoot... and slide across the thing on landing? Just wondering.... Matt
jerry81 10 #2 March 28, 2003 I don't know about your question, but I've slid and almost slipped in mud on a few landings. Luckily, I wasn't barefoot at the time.
quade 3 #3 March 28, 2003 Considering how long even a really weak swoop is, you'd need more than one Slip-n-Slide. I mean, they're only like 20 feet long aren't they?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

kansasskydiver 0 #6 March 28, 2003 hahahah if you don't have a pond to swoop, just get a slip n slide and a plastic pool huh?
MattM 0 #7 March 28, 2003 hellofuh lot cheaper i think it would be fun to see a buncha people try this and bust their ass... Matt
SkymonkeyONE 3 #8 March 28, 2003 Matt, you would have to buy at least twenty and put them end to end to accomodate me. That would be some funny shit.
Steel 0 #9 March 28, 2003 Oh come on! You can't just start you swoop with your feet above the ground 150 feet back or whatever necessary with the intention to touch down on a 20 foot slip and slide strip? We are only talking about a 20 foot stopping distance accuracy. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
MattM 0 #10 March 28, 2003 or u could substitute the water with baby oil, now that would be a guaranteed ass busting Matt

SkymonkeyONE 3 #12 March 28, 2003 That's right, you WOULD be slipping and sliding your ass off. Better make that 30 end to end for a total of 600 feet. Better yet, JP, have you buddy build a 300 foot long slip and slide (with a pool at the end)

hookitt 0 #14 March 31, 2003 Yes this has been done. You must be willing to allow the slip and slide to get wrecked from the hardware on the rig when you face plant, and also just be willing to get soaked. There was a Slip and slide at the WWFC in 96 I believe. It was actually several clear plastic tarps. Big fun and one non injurious high impact. Access to the slip and slied lasted one afternoon. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
