Landing too short

Recommended Posts

OK, another question..... This is concerning a straight in landing, nothing fancy to keep it very general. If you are coming in on a landing and you find yourself about 20 ft. too short from where you want to land, by pulling on your rear risers just a little bit, would this give you that little extra distance forward to make up the 20 ft. or so?

Depends on where you've decided you're going to be 20ft too short. If you're still at 500 ft and you realize this then you may be able to use your rear risers or brakes to get the extra distance, however if you realize this 20ft off the ground then just deal with it. Remember, when you let the canopy fly again it's going to dive - you don't want to initiate a dive 20ft off the ground.
Be careful.
