Javelin containers with soft reserve ripcords

I replaced my metal ring with a soft reserve ripcord handle and noticed that there was a little exposed cable. A friend has the same set up on his mirage and also has the exposed cable between the top of the pad and the hard housing. Someone said it was because we have chest rings as well, does this ring true to anyone?

Yes, on one of my fully-articulated Javs (the one with the soft handle) there is some cable showing right next to the chest rings.

Tack your exposed housing to your upper harness ring (if it hasn't already been done) and you can get rid of most of this problem. It is now done standard on Javelins.

I have a soft reserve handle with exposed cable as well, but I don't have chest rings on my j-3.

I jump a TearDrop Superfly, and I've got exposed cable on mine as well. Seems to be almost standard I think. I've been told it could help on the pull though (as you can loop your thumb over it - see my other post) Danger could be my middle name. But it's Paul.

I have a Mirage G3 UNISYN and there is no exposed cable on mine. The top of the soft handle is against the hard-housing for the reserve cable. There is about 1/8" gap between them.
