skr 1 #1 June 23, 2004 Today the text in the top nav bar which has Home Forums ... Webmail is dark blue against a dark background and I can't read it. I have to put the mouse on the area and then look down at the bottom of the window and see what URL it would go to
sangiro 4 #2 June 23, 2004 Hey Skratch, Can you give me some info on your browser and operating system again please? Also, is it just today? What has it been like over the past week. I made some changes last week but have not changed anything since...Safe swoops Sangiro
skr 1 #3 June 23, 2004 FreeBSD 4.9 Mozilla 1.6 built native for FreeBSD, not Linux Mozilla running on Linux Emulation. Today is the first day that I noticed it, but for the last few days I've logged in in the morning, done other things and logged back out in the evening so it may have been that way and I just didn't notice. When I put the mouse on one of the links in the nav bar it changes color to a dark blue and I can barely make out the letters. When the mouse is not there the nav bar is uniformly dark with little, barely visible "|"s indicating the boundaries of the fields.
sangiro 4 #4 June 24, 2004 I don't have access to that configuration to test... I'll have to do a bit of guessing. One more question: Can you see the nav bar on other sections of the site? If it's just in the forums then I'll look at what's different here from the other sections. If it's everywhere then there's something in the stylesheets that your browser doesn't like.Safe swoops Sangiro
flylikeahandbag 0 #5 June 25, 2004 I also have noticed this problem over the last few days. Im am using IE6. The colours appear to be consistent whether I'm in forums, dropzones ect but i have noticed the font size is smaller when e-mail is selected.-------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk
sangiro 4 #6 June 25, 2004 Which operating system are you using? ( I do test on IE6 and have not seen this) Can you grab a screen-shot for me please?Safe swoops Sangiro
pilotdave 0 #7 June 25, 2004 Here's what I get at work. (sorry about the quality... don't have any decent software here). IE6, win2000. A little more detail... When I initially load the site, this is what I get. But if I hit refresh, it goes to normal and stays that way. But if I even just type in dropzone.com and load the page that way again, it goes back to how the screenshot looks. Dave
sangiro 4 #8 June 25, 2004 Skratch, Let me know if you see any improvement. I've made a few changes.Safe swoops Sangiro
skr 1 #9 June 25, 2004 >Let me know if you see any improvement. >I've made a few changes. The readable, almost white text in the nav bar returned the next day. It's all OK now. As I clicked on various nav bar elements I noticed that some stayed white and an underline appeared when I put the mouse on them, while others turned dark and unreadable. I was going to file a more complete description, but I just realized that some of them are turning the "read link" color, which is too dark for that dark nav bar. I also noticed that the nav bar is not consistent across all pages, but I'm just a perfectionist and it's all perfectly usable. Thank you for this place Sangiro. sangiro 4 #10 June 25, 2004 Skratch, Thanks for the feedback. Yup - I'm updating the nav bar and the layout of all the sections on the site. Those that I've gotten to have the new nav bar, the other still have the old one. They'll be inconsistent for a while till I catch up. Sounds like there's still something weird happening when you hover over the links. I'll take a look at the stylesheets again.Safe swoops Sangiro
pilotdave 0 #11 June 25, 2004 Seems to be fixed on my end. I'll let ya know if it does anything weird later. Dave

skr 1 #13 July 6, 2004 The text in the upper nav bar was dark again last night, and still is today. It's the part of the nav bar that has Home | Forums | ... ... ... | Mail The little vertical "|" field separators are a darkish blue, but visible. I can still get around by looking at the URL that appears down in the bottom of the Mozilla window.

ernokaikkonen 0 #17 July 9, 2004 Well, it's not working for me either. Opera 7.51, Windows98SE. If use the setting "identify as MSIE6", it works right. If I properly identify myself as Opera, it looks like the attachment. It's been like that for ages BTW. I just don't need the nav-bar that much since I bookmark directly to the forums.
