"Pat Works, early and longtime "relative work" (formation skydiving) advocate, will receive the USPA Gold Medal for Meritorious Service at the National Skydiving Museum's Hall of Fame induction ceremony September 7 at Skydive Chicago in Ottawa, Illinois. The USPA Board of Directors selected Works to receive the award at its recent summer meeting. Works, a 50-year USPA member who made his first jump in 1961, wrote the first how-to book on freefall formations in 1975, "Parachuting: The Art of Freefall Relative Work." (+ the 1st FS BOOK, "UWF" 1978; 1st vRW how-to book in 1998 "The Art of Freefly)

"At the event, the National Skydiving Museum will induct the 2013 class into its Hall of Fame. This year's inductees include Curt Curtis, Jack Jefferies, Kim Emmons Knor, Chuck MacCrone, Jackie Smith and Jim Wallace. Anyone may attend the museum's Hall of Fame ceremony and dinner. Contact Museum Administrator Nancy Kemble at (540) 604-9745 or [email protected] to register."
