Jim....I dont think your assesment of the duck shrinkage is accurate. After reading your post I went and found my old football letter jacket and the same thing has happened to it....so it cannot be the duck cuz its certainly made of cotton and leather.
Heres what I think......we aged a bit....the old jumpsuits dont fit anymore......but we are still skydiving.
Thats all that matters fellas.
