Tuna-Salad 0 #1 September 18, 2008 I did my first AFF when I was 18 at Skydive Greenville, in Greenville South Carolina. This DZ had a kingair C-90 and was at the Donaldson Center airport. The DZ is no longer there and I'm wondering if anyone had ever heard of "Skydive Greenville" or knows what happened.Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. futuredivot 0 #2 September 18, 2008 I know a lot of the old Greenville crowd. Most moved to Chester. If you remember Mark Hiscott, Michelin has him over in Thailand now.You are only as strong as the prey you devour
smears 0 #3 September 18, 2008 If you live in Greenville try Flying Tigers SPC. They're in Clemson. That's where I jump and love it
Tuna-Salad 0 #4 September 18, 2008 I am no longer in greenville. Was just wondering what happened to this DZ if anybody knows.Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.
sctriguy 0 #5 September 19, 2008 yes, most our out in Chester at skydive carolina. Someone did a jump over Donaldson a few weeks ago so there is no reason it couldn't come back.
smears 0 #6 September 19, 2008 True, I did a "demo" over there about a month or two ago for a hanger party. Bill Wood was there and let me jump his American flag. Jim, Eric, Trent and I jumped in for the party. That's the best way to arrive at a party
Bolas 5 #7 September 19, 2008 I heard a story about Greenville's last day. Burke Fitzpatrick was the S&TA. On the last day of the DZ, right before the last load Burke walked up to the DZO and said "I'm resinging as S&TA." The DZO confused sadly said, "I know, this is the last load." Burke repeated, "No. As of this moment, I'm no longer the S&TA." and ran off to get on the plane. The DZO just looked confused. That was, until Burke's landing. Burke swooped into the hanger and didn't come to a stop until he was only inches from the rear wall. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
futuredivot 0 #8 September 19, 2008 Quoteno reason it couldn't come back. I don't think Donaldson wants another full-time DZ on the field. You are only as strong as the prey you devour
CSpenceFLY 1 #9 September 19, 2008 You're starting to hear that more and more. I wonder if it has something to do with the skydivers?

I wonder if it has something to do with the skydivers? *** I heard that...I mean, I wouldn't know of any real life situations where skydivers caused a DZO any heartburn or anything like that... Tuna-Salad 0 #11 September 19, 2008 Pretty unfortunate. I think I may of jumped with Burke... When I went there the first time the operation was nothing more than a tent.... Then they built a hangar which is now owned by Stevens Aviation.Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.
