DanG 1 #2 September 4, 2008 Closed. I hear the military is leasing the runway to do some sort of vehicle testing on it. Haven't heard anything about it reopening anytime soon. - Dan G

DanG 1 #4 September 5, 2008 Come on down to Skydive Orange. We're not going anyplace. A lot of the old school Hartwood types ended up at Orange. - Dan G
blacklabjumper 0 #5 September 5, 2008 This placed has been closed now for several years. There wasn't much to it. A short dirt runway, small landing area and very little outs. If you are in Virginia, you really should check out West Point. Big landing area (largest in VA), great views all the way to the ocean, very friendly people. It is also located close to the highway (15-20 minutes from the interstate). Compared to other DZ where you have to drive 45 minutes or more on country roads.Rodriguez Brother #1626 Dudiest Skydiver #1962 DPH #-

You sure about that? 15-20 minutes from the interstate? Not if you are coming from the north, if so you do need to spend 45 minutes on country roads to get there. Great dz, just pointing out some incorrect info in your post.
blacklabjumper 0 #7 September 6, 2008 on a clear day you can see the ocean. At least on a high pull. Yeah you are right if you get off at kings dominion but not if you take 295 to 64. I live in Richmond so I forget about coming from the north. I stand corrected.Rodriguez Brother #1626 Dudiest Skydiver #1962 DPH #-
