Isn't that the truth. I did my AFF certification at Perris. I passed no problem. Think I could get on a dive? Then Scott Border invited me to go MAIN SIDE. Ooo. When I said I'd just go on the reserve side, he said "What better time to learn than with someone who knows?" Well, after that I was in. Scott's dead - in the Perris crash - but I still think of him often. I have 1200 aff dives, but he was the dude who let me tag along as a newbie with 1000 dives and got me going.

I'd rather go with a twenty something AFF I with 500 dives than with an 80 something AFF I with 20000 plus dives.

Ahh. Thank you! Nice thing about my licence is that it's South African, and D licences have not yet passed the 1000 mark! When I see numbers in the 20000's... I'm glad I live in the 3rd world!

I did do a jump with "Bear" at Perris though. He's D138. That was cool.
