Honerary Golden Knight Buddy Blue

Recommended Posts

Saturday night December 6th in Fayetteville, NC. The US. Army Parachute Team held their Bi-Annual Golden Knight Reunion. During the reunion the Knights meet with former and honerary team members and reminised about the past as well as discuss the future. In attendance were A virtual whos who of the skydiving frontier, such as Lew Sanborn D-1, Bob Mc Dermot, Jerry Borquin, and a list of single and double digit D-#'s that simply amazes the average as well as professional skydiver! The highlight of the reunion is at the end of the evening where the team names the selected soldiers for the Avaitor of the year as well as the Golden Knight of the year. These catagories are determined by closed ballot vote by the current team members the week prior to the reunion.
There is also the announcements of the following individuals have been nominated and selected as Honerary Golden Knights due to their contributions to the Army parachute team as well as their significant impact on the skydiving community.
This year there were 5 selectees in to the Honerary Golden Knights Catagory. One of which was CSM (ret.) Charles (Buddy) Blue.
Buddy Blue is a retired Special Forces SGM and the owner of Skydive Opelika in Tuskegee, AL. the home of the original Tusksgee Airmen.
CSM Buddy Blue was nominated for his continued support of the GK and for his outstanding acheivements as a Skydiver and as a dropzone owner, and to me personally as a friend and father figure. CSM Blue runs a small Cessna Drop zone which has produced countless team members and National champions for the Golden Knights, such as Chris Needles, LTC ret. Danny Greene, and numerous Team leaders.
CSM Blue is also known for producing a well known skydiving prodigy and anomoly also known as SkymonkeyOne!
Buddy Blue was accompanied to the event by the always beautiful Mrs. Dianne Blue.
Congratulations Buddy and Dianne

If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
