JohnRich 4 #6 January 6, 2004 Quoteyeah i saw that D-box picture too... anybody want to clue me in on whats going on in that? why drop a cardboard box with a pc? The large cardboard box is a deployment "bag" for a 100-foot diameter cargo chute. The Skydive Houston CReW dogs sometimes hook up three or four people together harnessed underneath it, with extra canopies. And then when you add other jumpers under canopy buzzing around the cargo chute, it looks like a big "mother ship" from outer space. Finally, after drifting across the countryside for a while, they cutaway from the cargo chute, and deploy their regular chutes.
jlkskycam 0 #7 January 7, 2004 It's a tried and tested deployment system for our 100' round. -Jerry
jlkskycam 0 #8 January 7, 2004 Actually, we've never strung up more than two people under it directly to it's risers though there have been a couple of attempts with a large aluminum "gondola" out of a CASA but opening shock easily shook off the 4 people holding on's grips both times. Something else is being plotted. -Jerry

weekendwonder 0 #11 January 8, 2004 The big round is getting more play than the KH pics. Of course, it IS pretty wild to see. Bob Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
