206 Jump Door

Recommended Posts

I have seen three different in-flight doors on Cessna U206 jump planes.
The first door was a sheet of Lexan that slid forward, beside the co-pilot's seat. It did not seal very well, took up valuable elbow room for jumpers sitting up front and probablt had no government paperwork.

The second in-flight door was made of Cordura and rolled up to hide against the ceiling. It sealed better, but needed an experienced doorman with both hands free.

The third - and best - inflight door was a slide up Lexan door similar to a King Air or Twin Otter. We used it at Hemet, California. The airplane was owned by Bob what's-his-name and that A&P out of Elsinore ... you know, the guy with the wrench.
Their names will come to me at 03:00 am.
You could also ask the aircraft overhaul shop beside Sky Dance in Davis, California/Yolo County Airport.
