wrong most skydivers carry on theyre rigs ,as its safer than checking them and they are more used to seeing them at security now days and know what they are looking at . so just put it in a gear bag be polite and in most instance,s walk right on BUT take your hook knife off of the rig and put it in your checked bags and you should have no problem hope this helps .
