bherrick 0 #1 May 31, 2011 does a pilot or safire2 have longer recovery arc?
AggieDave 6 #2 May 31, 2011 They're both fairly similar, but in my experience the Safire2 is a bit longer. The next question is why would this minor difference between the two be all that important?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." So that you know precisely where to set your audible for your final turnExperienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. bherrick 0 #5 May 31, 2011 I would like a little more recovery arc than the pilot for front riser 90s on final
Rugby82 0 #6 May 31, 2011 The Safire2 also has a very short recovery arc. If you're looking for a canopy with a longer recovery arc then I'd try a Sabre2.Blue skies!

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
AggieDave 6 #8 May 31, 2011 QuoteI would like a little more recovery arc than the pilot for front riser 90s on final For a 90 degree turn on a canopy loaded in the range that you should be loading it, will all be very similar between the Pilot, Safire2 and Sabre2. The next question is what are you trying to do, what are your long term goals with canopy flight and how are you planning on getting there? PM me if you would rather not put it out there in public. The reason I ask is because the underlying reason you have asked this question is more than just "I want more time in the dive." I imagine it has to do with "I want more time in the dive to build more speed to have a longer swoop." That is fine, but a change in canopies isn't the magic bullet that you may think it will be. What you are doing with the canopy is much more important.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
