'(USPA) requires in the Skydivers Information Manual that any jumper flying a wingsuit for the first time have a minimum of 200 freefall skydives, made within the past 18 months, and receive one-on-one instruction from an experienced wing suit jumper, or 500 jumps experience to go without an instructor.'

Ultimately to get to start wing suit jumps you need to be doing on average 12 jumps a month (that 2-3 days or jumping). If you are working and only really jumping on weekends you will need a DZ close by that you can get to almost every weekend there is good weather. Your goals are long term so your choice of dz should be based on long term goals not short term ones

That's not exactly true. The BSR has changed in 2011.

6. Any person performing a wingsuit jump must have at

least 200 skydives, and hold a current USPA license. [E]

That's all it says in the BSR (2-1) and this is in the wingsuit recommendations section (6-9)...

Note: As used here, "Coach” describes an experienced wingsuiter.

“Student” describes a first-time wingsuit jumper required to have a mini-
mum of 200 jumps per BSR 2-1, recommended to have been in the past
18 months. Wing-suit manufacturers offer instructional ratings for their
products. All jumpers, regardless of experience in other disciplines, are rec-
ommended to seek thorough training that covers all the elements below.

Both of those are from the SIM. They got rid of the 500 jump bit as well as the 200 REQUIRED in 18 months and lowered it to recommended. It's not clear on if you HAVE to go with a coach. (I'm not recommending it, just saying)
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
