Skwrl 56 #1 March 26, 2012 Hey everyone, A few years ago, I recall seeing an ad in Parachutist that had a picture of a skydiver giving two big thumbs up as he exited the aircraft. The picture generated a lot of controversy at the time (well, at least a letter or two to Parachutist) because the photo made it appear as it he was close to hitting the tail as he exited. I don't recall whether he actually was close or whether it was a sort of optical illusion. Does anyone recall this photograph? More importantly, does anyone know where I might be able to find that picture? I'm preparing a talk on tail strikes (I'm opposed to them, myself), and it would be helpful to have it. DiverMike 5 #2 March 26, 2012 This is a photo of me taken from a photographer sitting on the floor of a caravan. It makes it look like the tail is going to go through my head, but it is just the perspective. Feel free to use it and attach any horrible decapitation story to it you like. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
J0nathan 0 #3 March 26, 2012 photoshop that pic a bit to convert the "near tail strike" to a "tail strike" which would make the presentation very interesting . also invent a gory story which goes with the pic as skwrl suggested
