normiss 643 #9 September 26, 2013 I'm tremendously interested in what this treaty would do if say, the US secretly supplied weapons to radical Muslims in Syria or some other similar situation....

Agreed, I don't see restrictions on the word "arms" in the constitution at all. Yet, most people seem to be okay with some restrictions on the type of arms allowed to be owned. DaVinci 0 #17 September 26, 2013 QuoteHaving a hard time telling the difference between a targeted ban and total confiscation? Having a hard time understanding "Shall not be infringed"? Besides the USSC has already ruled a ban on an entire class of weapons commonly used for legal reasons would not be constitutional.
DaVinci 0 #18 September 26, 2013 QuoteAnd how exactly does the UN treaty infringe upon your right to own weapons? A great question. Article 12 encourages encourages registration and for the records to be delivered to the nation that made the firearm... So I buy a Beretta shotgun and that information is not only recorded in the US (Illegal under US law) but also given to Italy. Further it encourages Countries like Italy to not sell weapons to Countries that are not signatories. So in essence Beretta is not supposed to sell weapons to the US.... A shame since I really want a Silver Pigeon III at some point for skeet shooting. That is just one example.

Yes, with "oob" and "scums" and "tards" being shot out, its surprising how everything doesn't turn into a gun thread. Republiscums? Gooberment? Dedmotards? Funny though . . . my spell check doesn't red line Republiscums. I guess it is a new accepted word on Dizzy. Creepy Assed Cracker . . . Nope . . . no red lines there either.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
normiss 643 #20 September 26, 2013 I think I've tried to not attack any parties, I they are equally to blame. I don't have that same attitude towards the government as a whole. Hence my reference to them that way. I don't want to get into internets arguments. They're a waste of time and only the trolls enjoy them.
