CanuckInUSA 0 #1 March 23, 2010 Screw all this healthcare debating. Something important happened today and the NFL has voted to change playoff overtime rules in their games. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5022064 Now if we could only get Obama to bring us a College Football playoff. HeadCone 0 #2 March 23, 2010 I don't like that change. It may help things a bit but if they were going to change anything about overtime, they should just go to college rules for all regular and post-season games. Also, the change seems weird; am I reading this right? A team wins the coin toss and elects to receive. They drive down and score without the other team ever getting possession. If that score was a field goal, then the coin toss losers will then get a possession, but if the score was a touchdown, then the coin toss losers won't get a possession? If that's the case, I'm not sure that the kind of score should matter.-- Turn off the internet! CanuckInUSA 0 #3 March 23, 2010 I do think the college OT rules are more equitable. Both teams are given the same chance. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
kelpdiver 2 #4 March 23, 2010 pretty good solution from the No Fun League. I think it's better than the college answer. My initial thought was just that each side should get a possession, but I think it's fine to say that if you give up a TD, you lose.
