Anyone? Beuller? When the truth is so blantantly obvious, why would anyong take it up? When you understand the value of rigorous, independent and published peer review to differentiate junk science (not my term) from the real McCoy (not my term, either), let us know. No, I claim expertise on your twisting as I have seen it as much as anybody And the "knots" are fruits of your labor But, if you want to really get into knots and splicing I think I can hold my own. The picture was probably a brain "twister".. Was that really your picture? Man, that would explain a lot"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." billvon 2,471 #35 March 26, 2010 Four most useful knots out there - Figure 8 Bowline Clove hitch Water knot Cool knots - Prusik Double fisherman Carrick Worst knot in the world - Square knot
kallend 1,679 #36 March 26, 2010 Quote Worst knot in the world - Square knot Incorrect. The Granny knot is inferior to the square (or reef) knot if used as a bend. The square knot is fine for its intended purpose, which is (k)NOT to attach two lines together.. (yes, I was a boy scout, and once upon a time owned a sailboat).... I dont use them much as I prefer to weave in an eye Do you like a long or short splice on a 3 strand rope? Which is stronger? Have you ever weaved a temp eye into a stranded metal rope?"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." The rope I have used is for line mans hand lines Many like having a hook braided into it. I prefer an endless hand line and you use grunt knots and half hitches to get things up to them. The industry has gone to synthetic ropes but I still prefer natural fiber manila rope. We weave in a three ring becky as opposed to just having an eye so you can adjust how close to the work you have the sheave ."America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
