...despite TARP (which never took over the toxic assets).

Come on guys! I want to hear from all the bail-out supporters!

How much more will it take for you guys to wake up and smell the coffee? "The government can fix this!" -- bullshit! "Nationalizing the banks will help!" -- bullshit!

There isn't a single government program that is run with efficiency...and to think there are some that want to bring "talent" to healthcare...:S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S

"Government is the problem." - Ronald Reagan.

SOooooooooo....who's backing the "next" stimulus plan from President Obama? Yeah...all those millions spent on sod for the National Mall and contraceptives will really help! :|
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Never ever was about the people and credit. TARP is about government control and power over more of the priviate sector. It is about expanding a system using fear that will help keep a party in power for years to come
"America will never be destroyed from the outside,
if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
Abraham Lincoln

Is that just rhetoric or do you think there are actually a lot of bail-out supporters here? I disagree with you quite often and yet I support the bail-out about as much as you do.

Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

Yep.

Not only that, but interest rates at some banks have dropped to zero while the rates charged to customers for the loans they do write have skyrocketed.

Chase now has a top interest rate of (drum roll please) .02%. If you live someplace like California that translates into .012% after taxes.

Citibank has raised the interest rate on one of my two credit cards to 15% in spite of a 793 credit score.

Those are great profit margins if you can get them.

For those interested:

RBS paid over $105 billion for ABN Amro. For which you could now buy Citi ($19 bn), Goldman ($35bn), Deutsche ($10bn), Morgan Stanley ($16bn), Barclays ($8bn). You would have over $9bn left in cash for which you can throw in GM, Ford and Chrysler as a sweetener.

See attachment of change in market value...

They had to pay for their new toys somehow.

Thankfully, Geithner will be there to look into the situation. Send the guy who can't pay his own taxes to look into poor spending practices by a bank that is funded by the government that employs the guy who won't pay his taxes.

And since everything is going so well with the first package, let's throw another $T at it.

That's all? Some years ago, American Express raised my interest rate to 29.8%. Note that anything over 26% is considered loan-sharking (and thus illegal) in all but five states. Guess which states all the credit-card companies are located?
Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD

I'm willing to listen to people like you, Anvil, and Glen Beck (God bless his heart), but I rarely hear any solutions other than "just let capitalism run its course!:S We have, and look where it's corruption has led us...

I wish we could live in a perfect world, with less people and minimal government...but it doesn't seem practical anymore. Reality shows us that the population is rising....Opinions, ideals, beliefs, and principles are growing out of control at an alarming rate. We either have to rise up and fight, or we have to make the best of globalization, which at this time seems inevitable.

What hope can pure capitalism bring us? I hear no plan, no solutions....just a bunch of over opinionated loud mouths.

What are we supposed to do? Where is some substance that the "idiot fucktard socialists" can digest?

What do we do with all the people who have been fucked, are being fucked or about to be fucked because of BS capitalistic GREED!

I did not support the original Bailout....I supported the auto loan because it was just a fraction of the funds that the banks shouldn't have recieved in the first place. The benefits seemed more tangible and supported millions of people...it was more accurate to the purpose of what we were originally told...the goal to help people stay in their homes....not buy a bank for free day.

I have smelled the coffee, but what kind is it....French Roast or Columbian? Do you have any sugar? Cream? What the hell is that oily residue floating around on top?
Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
