I've noted that nobody can answer how politics affect chemical reactions as of yet.

If only life were that compartmentalized.

So open the compartment and refute my statement. Simple documentation showing different experiment results for Dems/Reps should do the trick nicely.

Different expirementation for diff parties wasn't the issue. The issue that you were extending minute chemical reactions as if that was the start and the end to all chemistry and that politics don't play a part in science. You microcosmed the shit out of it and want it to stand. I can take most anything, make a microcosm of it and find why it doesn't affect anything else and vice versa. That isn;t objective, it's selective.

Your ability to consistently recast everyone's intended meaning as a strawman argument is astounding.

I wonder if there's a market for that skill. If so, I think you've found a niche.

Nice catch, I saw it too. His original arg was that a simple chemical reaction was unaffected by politics, now it's, Simple documentation showing different experiment results for Dems/Reps should do the trick nicely.

WTF??????

Again, you're paying attention, nice catch.

Maybe it's because I think politics should be in the (dare I say it) political sciences department and not the chemistry lab?

I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have passed a chemistry exam by expounding on the difference between Dem and Rep environmental policies.

This will be my last post in this thread, since Michele has asked it be closed. Feel free to dispute in a new thread, however.

It doesn't have to be partisan to be political. The political dichotomy worls both ways, it goes left and right as well as upper and lower. The leftist elites will do things like the 9-0 HMO decision, which is a RW brainchild. They do so for the sake of elitist exclusion, not partisan leaning.

Bush's stem cell decision is partisan as well as a lot of dissention within his party. Nancy Reagan didn't like his decision and likely thinks he's an ass, and they're from the same party, obviously.

She used the term first.

I was only repeating her description.

Yep, that was my description.

And apparently, I can't even pass the class with a B no matter how I do on the final. So now I'm considering both how dumb I am, and how fucked this makes the whole situation.

I can either stay in class, and perhaps manage a C, or deliberately fail the final and get an F...which would allow me to process "grade forgiveness" and replace the grade after repeating the class for a higher score. It's a gamble...but it's also a decision I need to make.

No, I didn't do well on the exam. Not well at all. Matter of fact, I did very poorly. So I'm rather upset with everything now, and would appreciate the damned bickering stopped.

Thank you.

Fuck.

Who gives a shit if anyone is bickering. You started a post about a real issue of yours which in turn caused arguments and bickering amongst the other forum users. Lucky for you it turned out well and you weren't flunked. However you have since worked yourself up over this whole issue that now you have in turn not put enough effort into the class itself and are in risk of failing.

If you dont want to deal with bickering anymore then dont read the fucking forums. Suck it up, study your ass off and pass the goddamn the class.

Good Luck

Michele,

Sorry to hear about the poopy grade on your recent test. The final will cover stuff that you already got strong B's on, so it might be good to refresh on that first. If you can get a C overall, grab it and run. Heck, even a D is passing. It won't kill your GPA.

If it's comprehensive.

D's don't do any good for nursing.

Have you tried Viagra? :P

All kidding aside, here's a cheat trick; take a sequence of the valence electrons, the P, S, etc..., shrink it on a copier and slide it in the back of your calculator, you know, where the cover slides off and then goes to the backside.

It really helped me, err, uh the guy next to me I meanB|

Jesus fucking christ Lucky, can't you just write it in one post.....

Fuck that is annoying....

When I see long strings of Lucky posts I just keep scrolling. Miles of unedited quoted materials followed by a smile is just misusing the medium.

Jeez, even Kallend's got the hang of it now:P

And it's not required that everyone reply to every post. In fact, it's downright annoying. Pick the good ones and FOCUS.

Genuinely hope you don't actually believe that. Again it sounds like you do excellent overall, this particular subject seems to cause you unusual difficulty.

The school allows you to replace a grade if you get an F, but not if you get a C? Correct me if I am wrong but does that not discourage a student with a bad midterm mark from giving it their all? If I interpret that correctly it basically says that if you are marginal and won't likely get the grade you want, you are better off to quit than really give it everything you've got to bring up your grade in the course, since at least if you fail you get a second chance. Odd incentive program.

Anyway, enough about that. I am sorry that things did not turn out well, and hope things do improve in the near future. Given the obvious stress you are suffering from, you sound like you should go get really drunk with your freinds/family and get it out of your system unless there is another pending exam in the immediate future.

Wishing you happier times,

Richards

No matter what else, I don't cheat. That's beneath me, and it's not even something I'd consider. I'll pass or fail on my own, and not by cheating.

he's on crack.

I wonder if he realizes that might be the reason one can't respond to his posts? Instead, he chalks it up to political buddies or something. Honestly? When I see a string of posts by him (or, frankly, anyone), and they're all kinda long and diatrib-ish, I tend to just overlook them.

But then again, Linz, you might be right...he might just be on crack. Or bipolar and in a manic mood. Or something.

On a different note, I spoke with the professor, and he showed me what I need to get on the final to get a B in the class. I'm not likely to get an A, but I **am** likely to get the B. So I'm outta here to study...

I generally do excellently overall, and with the same study techniques. I don't think I'm dumb, actually, but man, this class has got me twisted. Yes, in this subject, I'm as dumb as a rock; however, let me back in regular sciences class and the A is doable...

It was like that in high school; there's just something about chemistry that I just don't get. And I'm not sure why, or what. But man, it's frustrating. The only thing I hold onto is that one B in a sea of A's won't kill me too bad. I hope. And I have no problems with the organic aspect of it - if I can see it, I can understand it. But atoms and electrons and protons and neutrons seem to slip from my grasp, skittering away like a scared, greased pig. Sigh...

If I knew it pissed ya off, I would do more of it. Furthermore, I generally add editorial, data, etc, rather than just smilies.

When I want you to instruct me on how to write, I'll ask. Even Kallend, that puts me in pretty good company, thx. So I guess the more analytical the person, the more wordy? Sorry, didn’t realize it was too difficult, perhaps I'll write simple instructions next time.

Gee, I often post empirical data and this, like DZ's is a popularity contest. Some of the same mob mentalities in this thread bitch about skygods and the cliques at DZ's, yet come here and do this.

Furthermore, all this does is to reinforce my assertion that cons stick together even if they disagree, libs will criticize each other. Case in point, but the DZ mob will disagree - cool;)

Oh, like your first post to this thread? Perhaps the reason you're not doing well is that you aren't able to read and analyze long writings. I dunno, I read yours easily enough.

Well, if I were. On crack. I would write. In sentence frangments.

As I wrote in what I believe was my first repoly to this thread, making ammends from an apology to admitting he's right shifts your relationship wayyyyy across the spectrum, so that was the right move rather than to play hard. Sometimes it works better to play hard, but it is all to situational.

Nope, its not what you say, its what you quote. Quoting the entire post you're replying to and then quoting again the individual parts you are addressing is not only a complete waste of space, it makes your posts very difficult to break down.

It's a tactic in debating. If the other party isn't going to bother reading your posts, then hey can't argue back, and you win.
