I have seen corporate-sponsored idiocy beyond what I would have believed had I not experienced it myself, but what is described in the article actually manages to surprise me. If it is true,then I think the defense should have gone with the insanity tactic.

Even though the idea is dumb... the sums involved are truely obscene. What are the courts on to allows such payouts for what is essentially trivial arguments?
