DemolitionDarby 0 #1 April 7, 2017 Hey guys and gals, I’ve got a Curv that was built for a Pilot 168 main with an optima 160 reserve that I want to eventually downsize and use a Crossfire 3 135 main with. So, what are some potential or common problems associated with using a smaller main in a container that was built for a larger one? Any first hand experience is appreciated. Slimrn 6 #2 April 7, 2017 For clarity, you have a VC3?

Don't try using a smaller deployment bag to make it tighter either. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. gb1 3 #5 April 7, 2017 That rig was designed to have the bag remaining in the container, once opened, to be lifted out by the bridle. It should be snug in the container. Rigging Innovations makes a spacer that will fit between the bag and container that remains in the container to fix this situation. Tell them what you have and they will know the size you need. Yes, the pin will fall out if too loose. That situation is not your friend.

Cool, never heard that as an option from any factory. Over the years I had hand tacked or sewn a few 'pillows' into main containers to reduce their volume. An acceptable technique, at least in old-school thinking. (Although known as a pillow, one would use stiff but compressible foam. The foam went either against the backpad or up against the reserve container, depending on shape considerations.)
DemolitionDarby 0 #7 April 10, 2017 Oh, that's awesome. Well! I'm glad I bought a Voodoo Curv 2.0 then :) Thanks for all the input everyone!
theplummeter 15 #8 April 11, 2017 If it's a VC3 I currently jump one with a Crossfire2 139 and Nano 160. I shortened the closing loop slightly, it packs nicely with no issues in over 300 jumps.
