"Kalashnikov" Brand Vodka

Recommended Posts

In the news:
Vodka "Kalashnikov" named after the infamous Russian machinegun inventor has recently become the main target of criticism of local teetotalers in Scotland.

According to the members of the organization, the product "advocates terror and violence" since it enables people to draw logical parallel between the famous Soviet machinegun AK-47. That is why this vodka is considered dangerous.

Wow!!!...a deputy just made an arrest. :P

It's a false arrest. That other story was about the introduction of the "Kalashnikov" brand vodka. This particular story here is about how a group of anti-alcohol goofballs think this vodka is too dangerous because it is called "Kalashnikov".

I suppose the theory is that if you drink "Kalashnikov" vodka, you'll get the urge to go out and shoot someone. While if the same person was to drink some other brand of vodka, then no one is in any danger.

Does "Sky" brand vodka make you want to go jump out of airplanes more than other brands?

Of course not, but I've enjoyed it more than once -after- jumping out of planes. :P

"Kalashnikov Vodka" is simply Mikhail Kalashnikov & his descendants cashing in on what has become one of the most well known marketing "names" since Rolex in the 1920's.

Having said that, apparently the marketing does them no favours:

Kalashnikov Vodak has been available in the US for many years, but only in the smaller bottles that held 8 shots. We have recently made larger bottles available which hold 30 shots and, when 2 bottles are fastened together with duct tape, you can carry 60 shots of vodka around with you."

:D:D:D

Incidentally, you can get all sorts of "Kalashnikov" stuff, like penknives etc...

It's a "Macho" brand name.
