You may want to look at the newer FRS radios from Motorola - they come with 14 channels, and a series of squak codes (I think like 38 different codes - similar to sub-channeling on the RX side), when combined with Mot's new 'privacy mode' - it pretty much guarentees un-interrupted communication - they even have 2-bit scrambling to make it harder for others to evesdrop. Plus you can get a earbud headset with voice activation TX.
